feel free to laugh, but aliens on 15:06 - Sep 16 with 1613 views | StokieBlue | I can't read it without login in here but why are you unsettled by them? It's entirely possible that one section of the US military won't admit to other sections what it's flying about in the sky. For some context, the SR71 (blackbird) was originally built in 1964, the B2 stealth bomber first flew in 1989. Given the advances in computing power it's well within the realms of possibility that they could be flying around all kinds of crazy drones where G-forces are pretty much irrelevant. Just think, 56 years since the plane that holds the official world record for the fastest plane ever was constructed - do you think they have been sitting around twiddling their thumbs all that time? It's actually the same amount of time from then until now than it was from the Wright brothers first ever powered flight to the Blackbird - that gives some perspective. That and they still spend tens of billions every year on black projects which nobody has much idea what they are. It's also possible they are alien in origin but it's the least likely of the two plausible scenarios although the more interesting one. SB

"State of the art". This isn't really true, state of the art for what they are willing to admit to the world they possess. So in 1964 they admitted to having this (their main jet): But they were also flying this which the rest of the military knew absolutely nothing about: SB

They kind of covered that it might be secret man-made in the show and certainly didn;t rule it out, but thought it unlikely. I think partly because some of the show's gang of experts are so well connected and experienced in that area, but also because the magnitude of superiority was so huge. Like instant acceleration and near instant hyposonic speeds, no wings, no exhaust, or visible means of propulsion. Plus the g-forces of a craft flying that fast or changing direction so instantly would turn a human inside to mush (apparently), although they could be drones. [Post edited 16 Sep 2020 15:16]

As I said, it's possible that it's aliens but the simpler explanation is that it's super-secret highly advanced technology. Wright Brothers First Flight -> 56 years -> SR71 (still the fastest plane ever apparently). SR71 -> 56 years -> ? Maybe a tik tak? We simply have no idea what they have been spending hundreds of billions of dollars on for the last 50+ years. If it's the videos of the Tik Tak I've seen before it doesn't show hypersonic acceleration from standstill so perhaps it's a different video. Also worth nothing that the Chinese acknowledge having a hypersonic missile since 2014, given this it's not a stretch to imagine the US have something more advanced that can travel at those types of speed and without a pilot so G-forces become a non-issue as long as the materials used can stand up to the stresses. Why wouldn't there be aliens? I'm not suggesting for a second they are flying about above the earth but space is endless. If microbial life can be found in the harsh conditions of the Venus atmosphere (I realise it's a theory right now not a fact) then suddenly those planets in the goldilocks zone look even more interesting. Are we really that arrogant to think there's no possibility that somewhere out there is a civilisation more advanced than us. Imagine earth in another thousand years. Now try 100,000. Can you imagine the technology they could have? Again i'm not suggesting they are flying about above the earth but who knows? Remember that hacker who found the file of non terrestrial military personal? Humanity needs to get over itself. Why haven't they contacted us if they are out there? How many pigeons do you stop and talk to on your way to work?

Its weird you say that as the ex pop star was basically hinting at just that -some kind of forthcoming reveal, possibly of friendly or indifferent aliens that have been visiting (and known about) for some time. I know I sound barking, but I suggest you guys watch episiode 1 of the show and get back to me. Yes it's cheasily produced and very 'american' but the bare bones of the case are actually quite hard to argue with.

Fair enough Stokie and I bow to your technical knowledge and interests. Just one more point though: if this were some ultra secret US weapons programme, why reveal themselves so clearly and almost playfully to their own military?

It's not the first time they have done it. The CIA used to use UFO's as a cover story for both U2 flights and SR71 flights, they encouraged reports of UFO from both the public and the military. Once again though, there is still a small chance it can be alien, it would be nice if that was the case and would mean we have entire new branches of physics to discover which would be excellent. To be fair there is a massive difference between aliens existing in the universe at large and aliens flying around in the skies above Earth. I don't think anyone has disputed the first one - it's almost a certanity that life exists in abundance in the universe. Given that it's also almost a certainity that there are more advanced civilisations out there than ours (although there are many theories about great filters which are somewhat interesting which could prevent that). However, there are some fundaemental principles which makes travel from one system to another extremely difficult some of which would be: - Distance - Time dialation - Max speed limit (speed of light) Now it's possible that those are just mistakes/lack of knowledge in our physics but it's also possible they are fundamentals which can't be got around. If this is the case then it's still possible to colonise the galaxy at slower speeds but whether you'd bother spending hundreds of years to get to Earth just to fly around messing with the military is debatable. I don't think the pigeon comparison works - there is a huge difference between a bird and a species capable of space flight and one that can cause untold damage to it's planet and the surrounding solar system. Perhaps aliens just wouldn't care, there are more planets after all but trying to debate the motivations of an alien species is fairly pointless because by definition they are likely to be alien to us. I've always been a huge Blink fan although some of Tom's performances at one stage did become quite preachy about life and aliens...it's great to see him getting some recognition and bringing alien life to the forefront of discussion now though...I think an alien invasion of earth would be a nice way to see out 2020.
