My COVID test came back negative 09:14 - Oct 31 with 3537 views | Mullet | But I still feel like crap and according to the app I have to isolate until Friday. I have no idea if that means the test might be faulty or the symptoms I have are enough to mean I isolate either way. Was a very weird experience getting tested. I had to drive to an airport carpark, through a load of cones and prefab buildings, stopping every so often by people in hi viz and PPE. Ring this mobile number to talk to a guy outside my car, park up. Stick cotton buds in my mouth and nose and then drop it in a bag and then a bin next to a hut. I can see why loads of people especially the elderly would not want to get tested and just wait it out, it was pouring down here which seemed to make it worse too. They asked for a QR code but all I had a text message so they just shrugged and waved me through too, so I dunno what the point of it was.

Will you stop this please. You were disproven last time yet you continue to post the same conspiratorial rubbish. Give it a rest and spare me the reply with your cherry picked sources and selective quoting. You should really take a look at yourself. SB

It's not conspiratorial rubbish and don't shoot the messenger my friend, this information is actually from Ireland's Health Service Executive.

They were talking about the very rapid tests, not the PCR ones.

My COVID test came back negative on 10:13 - Oct 31 with 3371 views | BlueBadger | There's still a significant percentage of 'false negatives(but vastly improved on the estimated 30% of March)'. Do the full isolation period. I've had at least 2 punters on my caseload past month who've had every textbook symptom from initial presentation to blood tests to chest X-ray but tested 'negative'. We've treated them 'as is' anyway. Which is another reason why all these 'are all these positive deaths within 28 days' tw@ts are talking out of their arses.

Isn’t one of the main problems people are touching their cheeks/tongue with the swab and it often returns inconclusive? (Correct me if I’m wrong) When I went to take one they said to me don’t hesitate to get another test if you do and we can void the other one.

I'd have thought if you're right it's more likely I messed up doing it. Sticking a bud on tonsils that are already redder than Corbyn and swollen for 10-15 seconds was not easy. I was certainly struggling, so that'd put the reliability into question given no one is supervising me to check that.

My tonsils were removed as a kid but rolling the swab around both areas where they would have been produced immediate gag reaction every time, so very hard to do the one in mouth without the swab touching tongue. I assumed that then doing the up the nostrils bit would over-ride any accidental tongue-touching, but maybe wrong on that - Badger? Hope you're feeling better soon Mullet. Suitability being the keyword here.
My COVID test came back negative on 11:11 - Oct 31 with 3198 views | noggin | Just back from the test station with my daughter. A classmate at school tested positive so the whole class is in quarantine. I am supposed to be at work now but have to be home until next weekend, to look after her. Thankfully my employer is paying me for this period.

My neighbour who is in the process of setting up two clinical trials of Covid vaccine's, Oxford and Johnson & Johnson, told me her department estimate 18% - 20% false negative test's and, no false positive's. Both the clinical trials will start mid November and run through to March next year, there is a fear that the vaccine may not be effective for very long and will be monitored as part of the trial it has been suspected for a long time that antibodies do not last long in the body after a known infection and that has now been proved.

There are a few reasons why the test may not detect when someone is infected as touched on in the thread. Also, it would be good to prevent the spread of similar viral conditions because it will increase the pressure on testing and treatments if they are spreading rapidly too. Look after yourself, Mullet.

There's all sorts of reasons, tester's technique being a big one.
