Ipswich and Peterborough wins today on 09:27 - Jan 9 with 2427 views | PJH | As you say, by losing to most of the teams that are better than us PL has got us into a wonderful position. It would not be quite so good if we had also lost to Accrington and Crewe who were also better than us. Trouble is we still have to play those better teams again plus play another team that is likely better than us twice.

Shrewsbury deserved at least a point against us as well. They ended up gifting us the game having been the better side.

Ironically, you've a similar attitude to Alan Judge there. Come on, bit of positivity. [Post edited 9 Jan 2021 11:17]

If memory serves, they had a bonkers owner at the time didn't they?

Yeah, apparently sacked him because he didn't like that the limelight was on Burley doing well and not him. That's what I read when checking how many games he was unbeaten.

For balance, we deserved at least a point at Sunderland, and probably all 3.

Ipswich and Peterborough wins today on 12:03 - Jan 9 with 2099 views | Nthsuffolkblue | A better question is to ask whether you have seen a manager go in the situation his team is in rather than project a couple of theoretical results and then theorise it. We should not be 8th. I don't think many would have been shocked for Lambert to go last summer or before today. However he hasn't and we will have to see where that gets us. I am torn between wanting us to succeed and the recognition that there is nothing that inspires confidence in me that the success is round the corner with Lambert in charge. I think we will win today - we should. I hope we can get into an automatic promotion place - we should be. I wish we wer a competitive Championship side again. I don't care whether these things are with Lambert as manager or Dyer (which I would love if it did make us successful - but I lack confidence that it would) or someone different (but not a couple of the ridiculous names suggested).

ME has said he isn't going and that won't change unless we seriously spiral, which isn't ideal. So I personally hope we get promoted this season and then start off badly next season, sacking Lambert, and getting in someone competent to take us forward. Of course, he should have gone at the end of last season. A decent manager would get this squad promoted, if he was to go now.

Ipswich and Peterborough wins today on 18:48 - Jan 12 with 1612 views | Nthsuffolkblue | In the spirit of this, if Rochdale get at least 4 points from their next two games and Burton, Wimbledon, Northampton and Bristol Rovers all get home wins on Saturday, we will then be 8 points off relegation and at least 6 points off promotion. Indeed, if Hull get a home win too, we would be 9 points off promotion. It has come to something where we are more likely to be in fear of relegation than looking towards promotion from League 1. In case you haven't got as far as looking down, 4 clubs get relegated from this division. EDIT: Oh, and ppg we are currently 7th. Outside the play-offs and on relegation form (7 points from last 6 matches). [Post edited 12 Jan 2021 18:52]

Now 3-1 up. One more goal for Rochdale and we're up to 7th! Trouble is - assuming Rochdale go on to win - results like that strengthen PLs position in the eyes of ME, so not really helpful to us at all.

Rochdale 3 shots - 3 goals. We need that kind of ratio with our chances created.
