Last January..... 19:10 - Feb 1 with 1954 views | Herbivore | ..... Lambert should have got the boot and instead he got backed with a 5 year contract. This January, Lambert should have got the boot and he's been backed to bring in four players that would be out of the reach of most sides at this division, even as loans. Marcus Evans has learnt absolutely nothing at all.

Last January..... on 19:13 - Feb 1 with 1924 views | J2BLUE | Disagree. Think this proves there is no break clause currently activated and he would be entitled to his entire contract which we've seen he is prepared to take to court if necessary. It would probably cost as much in additional settlement fees to sack him now than it would to take this gamble and pray it works out.

Last January..... on 19:13 - Feb 1 with 1917 views | JDB23 | Clubs a shambles. I would otherwise be quite excited by these signings but with Lambert in charge it’s just pissing money up the wall. Have to wonder how much of a dent these signings fees/wages could have made into getting shot of him.

That's just wild speculation though.

Hardly wild. Makes sense with everything we know. This is hit and hope. If it works out Evans will love it. If it doesn't he saves the enthusiasm boost for ST renewal time. It's not fact but makes perfect sense.

Last January..... on 19:23 - Feb 1 with 1829 views | azuremerlangus | I think ME has decided to back PL one last time - spending the sacking compensation money on the loans instead. If it doesn't work out then PL gets the heave-ho at the end of the season (if he doesn't resign before then of course) and the compo is minimal. The expensive alternative of changing managers mid-season is that it still doesn't necessarily guarantee promotion with this current squad. [Post edited 1 Feb 2021 19:37]

Last January..... on 19:24 - Feb 1 with 1817 views | Churchman | Agree with that. He should have thanked the stars he wasn’t booted out at the end of the Relegation season, though I was in favour of giving him a chance at the start of last. He should have been fired a year last December when it was obvious he was abject at his job. It is clear, whatever the reason, that Lambert will see out much of his contract here now. Depressing is an understatement. Maybe he will leap into action, form a team that goes unbeaten between now and the end of the season. Streamrollering sides with aggressive attacking football to the point where they dread coming to FPR and we are geared to make a really good tilt at the Championship next season. I need a drink. It is pure speculation. If you're suggesting he will wait for ST time to sack Lambert that doesn't make much sense in the context of your feeling that this is about there being no break clauses. This is the definition of good money after bad if that's the case.

I said no break clause currently activated. I suspect one will kick in if we don't make the play offs. Yes it's speculation but it makes sense.

ST renewals will be in March/April, not at the end of the season. So if break clauses aren't activated until we haven't made the play offs we won't be sacking him at ST renewal time.

Exactly this - that was when the chairman should have been digging deep, and doing so would likely have changed our destiny.

April usually. We've seen plenty of ST renewal extensions in the past. I suspect we'll see another one once Lambert goes. Again, speculation on my part.

Did the same in the January of 2009 with magilton. Didn't back him on the brink of the play offs and then sacked him after the last ever defeat of Norwich

That’s nonsense. Magilton was given plenty of money to spend. He was funded for promotion & didn’t even make the playoffs.

Over a year ago, although I've never been massively sold on him. [Post edited 1 Feb 2021 23:26]
