I wouldn't worry too much, he's clearly the driver when it comes to management, it's only been highlighted by the fact that Lambert was so abysmal, and it was clear he was useless without a decent number two.
Sir Alex never had an issue going through assistants and Pep doesn't look like things have gone downhill since Arteta left. |  |

Last couple of weeks Matt Gill's stock has certainly risen, so I can see it being a positive that he's going to be sticking around, if even until the end of the season.

I was just about to create a debate with exactly this topic.
His usual assistant Leam Richardson seems to be doing a fantastic job with Wigan so he's clearly a very capable guy for Cook to have by his side and his first team coach is now at Chelsea so he also must be very good.
I hope Wigan can appoint a manager full time and we can poach Richardson in the summer. |  |
