I don't know whether he would, but he made his bed last year when he put in his trnafser request, and has again asked to leave the club this year.
His stock has dropped this year, and the same agent that instructed him to get that transfer request in needs to find him a club or it could be a season in u23 football with us which really would hamper his development and value. |  |

I don't see what bed he's supposed to have made exactly? People are allowed to have career ambitions. Until there's a deal to move him on that satisfies all parties, he's still at the club and it's up to us to treat him on his merits and up to him to give his best. That's it.
Everyone involved is a professional and should behave like it. I've no time for tantrums where we exile players with value to the club because we feel slighted in some way. |  |

Earlier this year I said I wouldn't be surprised if he wanted out based on logic but made it clear I was speculating. Others are desperate to appear in the know and this is one that is very easy to make up by putting 2 and 2 together.
I think we need to be careful believing rumours like this about Downes unless anyone has a decent source that he's put a transfer request in? |  |

He handed in a transfer request at the start of the season didn't he to force a move in the first window once he knew Palace were interested? So i thought anyway...
Poor form, sendings-off and injuries as well as uncertainty around Hodgson's contract obviously curtailed that and now he's in the under-23s. Funny ol' game! | |
