What if we lose tonight? With a "strong" side out? on 15:21 - Sep 14 with 1390 views | BlueBadger | Tonight's a bit of a lose-lose innit? A win tonight and it's 'just' the Banter Era Cup playing against kids. A loss and....well. This place will be.......quite something, I'd imagine.

What if we lose tonight? With a "strong" side out? on 15:24 - Sep 14 with 1376 views | gordon | No complaints from me as long as we win a few corners, have some nice passages of play on the halfway line, maybe a shot on target in the 84 minute, and keep the deficit to less than three goals.

equally, I think we and the players would benefit from winning a game, any game, and this is a good opportunity. KVY was the only starter on Saturday who had ever won a football match in an Ipswich shirt, including friendlies.

I remember thinking that it passed without much attention at the time. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Arsenal traditionally have the best youth team in the country, this is West Ham.

that should read "not including friendlies", but only just! for me, it should be about building partnerships and understandings, not overly bothered about the result (except for the inevitable flounce-fest on here)

We withdrew all the first teamers at half-time against Dartford, drawing 0-0. It was the kids that beat them second half! [Post edited 14 Sep 2021 15:44]

If we can't put out a (relatively) strong side tonight just in case it gets beaten, then we're in a worse position than I thought

I agree however it's unfortunate that most managers seem to view these tournaments as an irritant that they need to dispose of. Pretty sure if we lose he'll say it's a distraction.

That is what he said pre season so it would have been fair enough to play the kids and whatever happened, happened. But not now...not now he's decided to go strong and he's started talking about what a great day out it would be. He has decided to up the stakes to try and buy some goodwill. He can't do that and then not accept the criticism if it doesn't pay off. I couldn't care less about this cup but I care about this result now because our manager has made it meaningful.

What if we lose tonight? With a "strong" side out? on 16:56 - Sep 14 with 913 views | MerseyBlue | Yeah I'll probably be giving the forum a wide berth until logging my prediction on Saturday regardless of the result. There are plenty of sensible people on here making fair criticism but there will also be plenty of twaddle regardless of the result. As BB said, it's a lose-lose, so I'll watch the CL tonight whilst keeping an eye on the score.

Why would being disappointed about yet another defeat after a calamitous 25 games under Cook qualify as flouncing?
