Mick saw something in him that others didn't.

Glad it's going well for him.

Makes sense. Fast, tall, strong – he’s basically a young Daryl Murphy who also took time to find his feet and role in a team.

And possibly similar to Moore who too many people judged and condemned way too early.

I couldn't say whether he'll ever be more than a relible L1/2 striker, but I could never see in him the hopeless trundler that many declared him to be. Although he didn't find the net, the service was non-existent. But meanwhile it seemed to me that defenders were put under pressure by him and that he often laid it off well. Hand on heart I was a tad disappointed when he left although I can see that, at his stage of development the emerging new scene here wouldn't have space to be able to offer him what he needed.

I thought he was terrible and it was the right decision to move him on. I’ve never seen a striker give away so many unnecessary free kicks in needless areas. I don’t think he was particularly quick, strong or looked to have any attributes to play at a higher level.

Bonne - Pigott - Norwood

How would Drinan get a game behind those three or even Jackson for that matter!?

Totally agree. I liked the look of him. Thought he showed potential.

I would have kept him to stick around as 3rd choice striker, but that would have meant getting rid of Norwood in the summer.

Pleased to see he is doing well though as always looked a hard-working player who was starting to put it together a bit

To be fair Jonathan Douglas was a very good player just a big pity it was about 5 years before Mick signed him .

In his Town appearances, Drinan certainly looked a better prospect than did Kieffer Moore. The latter has subsequently scored 68 league goals in 168 games, so shows how wrong you can be about players, especially strikers. Drinan might make a player, but at 23 he needs to be playing regularly & he wouldn't have got much game time at Town.
