Would anyone on here seriously go to A&E for stiches for a small cut like that?

I must admit to thinking the same when I saw that image earlier.

14 stitches? Maybe worse than it looks there? Looks like a wipe and small plaster at worst.

I'm sure I've seen far worse from blokes falling off their bikes.

On here for a start!

It does look like a small cut but it could well be quite deep.

On Rocky they just used some Vaseline and cotton bud swabs.

He was ok.

Scalp cuts bleed like bvggery. Also, being right on the eyebrow (a very mobile part of the face), you're going to want something to hold it together while it heals.

I immediately thought the same and then wondered whether anyone could genuinely get so excited about town given present circumstances.

Some of those 14 would have been internal if it was deep.

Looks quite deep that. And as others have said, it's a scalp cut.

Although, 14 stitches in that? It was definitely a plastic surgeon did that, your average ED person would glue and/or steri-strip it.

You’re not paying fees as such, you’re paying for the insurance to cover those fees. And depending on how good your insurance is and/or how big your deductible is, a large number of Americans couldn’t/wouldn’t go to the emergency room for a relatively minor cut.

A significant number of Americans won't go the emergency room for something a lot more serious than that.

I can remember an American friend describing, on Facebook, what sounded very much like a heart attack. He only went dozens urged him to. In the end another friend, a nurse, drove him to the Emergency room.

Yes ha had a heart attack and on discharge set up a fundme to help pay for his medication.

Indeed. It’s a great system for those that can afford it. Whatever you do, Brits, SAVE THE NHS.
