Oh not get me started on that
Been trying to get that across since the song started.
Then again it is our fans.
At the risk of being an old bore, (no, no...), we don't even get the words to club anthem Edward Ebenezer right. The last line of the chorus of the recorded song is "everybody, call me Ted", an exhortation to his pals.
Same mistake as is made by most of the population when belting out Rule Britannia, the correct version of which implores: "Britannia, rule the waves", a completely different sentiment compared with the common, triumphalistic "Britannia rules the waves".

Amen. This is up there as one of my biggest gripes with songs…. Along with football fans (ours included sometimes) singing every chant about 50% faster than they need to be

whilst we are at it...... is it keirons at the wheel, or mckennas at the wheel?
Was it yourself of Blue Action responsible for the "His name's Macauley, Macauley ** bonne" song? My mate keeps singing this and what he is saying sounds very wrong, could do with some lyrics if anyone knows it

And... for "the sake of" Auld Lang Syne.
