Was just flicking through some old CDs and rediscovered some which I’ve forgotten about. This hit me thinking - in your opinion which albums, in your opinion, are the most overrated. You could still really like them but you don’t think of them as ‘classics’.

Listen Up, they did Fade Away and I do think that they become lazy with their output. But they definitely made a positive mark on British musics which was probably the Masterplan all along. | | | |

Screamadelica is an important album but I'd say Higher Than The Sun is the only truly great track on it.

Agree about Alanis Morrissette though, not about 'Achtung Baby' because it was the last good album they made and was an acceptable move away from previous ones as well. |  |

Guns n Roses - Use Your Illusion 1 and 2
About an albums worth of good stuff, just about, and the rest is either toss or filler. November Rain is 'the most dangerous band in the world' doing something that Meatloaf rejected for Bat Out of Hell 2. Double albums are rarely a good idea, and this is a prime example of that.
Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness
Another example of a poor double album that could have been a great single album. Some of it is great (1979 the standout) but fark me there is some ego fuelled filler. Plus, 'They Only Come Out At Night' is one of the worst songs I've ever heard by a band I like. This album galls as it follows Siamese Dream, which is one of my top 5 favourite albums ever.
Primal Scream - Give Out But Don't Give Up
On paper I should love it, I love the Primals, I love the stone-esque soul that it is channelling, but its a confused mess of an album. It doesn't sit right at all in the discography either, between the excellent Screamadelica and Vanishing Point albums that both hit the druggie vibes quite hard. |  |
