Hey, I need some help; so over to you folk and Phil/Gav.....
I do voluntary work and have done for many years, mostly in the 'care' industry. I also volunteer at sports events, and was fortunate enough to be selected for the 2012 Olympics and the Euros held last year.
So imagine my excitement when I was selected as a ceremony maker at The Finalissima at Wembley last Wednesday in front of 87000!
During the Euros we were not allowed on the pitch at the same time as the players because of covid, but last Wednesday was different. I was on the pitch at the same time as both teams including of course Lionel Messi.
My question is 'Is there any ITFC player past or present, any ITFC representative or ex representative, or indeed any supporter, who can share this claim to fame with me?'.

There are a few videos on You Tube, but of course we were not allowed mobile phones on the pitch. I do of course have pictures of myself and others on the pitch during our training sessions. There are strict Uefa regulations about what can and what can not be shared and indeed we were not allowed to mention anything before the game. | | | |

I think Giovani is the only player I can think of who would have played with him (and also against him).
The earliest I can see a player with a loose connection would be Rui Marques on Angola, who Messi played against in his 7th international cap. He was on trial with us under Royle but decided to sign for Leeds instead.
Can't think of many of our players that have gone onto to play in La Liga after leaving us (or Ligue Un) so I guess internationals would be the most likely crossover - Begovic in 2014 the most recent I can see with a very quick think off the top of my head. |  | | |

Hey Marques is a good call - my memory (yep it is fading!) suggests he did not play for us but yes he was technically a loan player on our books....

Ivan Campo might have done, but I suspect he may have just missed the boat. Wiki says he left Madrid in 2003 and Messi, while at Barca already, didn't get called up t the first team until 04.

Tamas Priskin made his Hungary debut against against Argentina in 2005.
Lionel Messi came on for his debut in the 64 minute, was sent off in the 66. Tamas Priskin came on in the 67 minute, so they never shared the pitch.
