I like Waitrose - we get staff discount in Morrisons though, so we've been roughing it lately. To be fair, Morrisons make better sausage rolls and their wine selection is excellent. |  |

Yeah sorry, I should have explained to save people watching the whole clip. Owen Jones is pissed off with Starmer for breaking his leadership pledges (sounds reasonable in fairness). Then he goes on to talk about the “most tedious, ridiculous Waitrose customers” being Starmer’s base. So of course the main message is lost and now it’s all about Waitrose. | |

I quite like Morrisons.
They have a decent meat counter where you can get some of the bits you can't find most regular supermarkets like bones for stock etc.
Reasonable money too on the regular stuff.
I'll use Waitrose when I'm near one but that's only as and when.
Waitrose really suits people who can't be bothered to cook and do a nice range of ready made foodstuff like M&S. Facters likes it.
I'd have you down more as an ingredient hunter than a typical Waitrose punter tbf. [Post edited 28 Jul 2022 20:06]

Oh I am - you know me well. I made my own southern fried chicken tonight (chicken thighs, various herbs and spices and a breading) served with home-made coleslaw which included apple, celery, cabbage, carrot and local cherries and a home-made mayo.
But I got all the ingredients in Morrisons in Harwich on Tuesday. Paula loves KFC - I don't. She got in at 6.30pm and I've been off all week. Tel and I had lunch in the pub earlier so I'm sort of full up still. | |

I'll do a bit of fried chicken here and there when I can be bothered. Cleaning the fryer out isn't my favourite job but it is worth the effort sometimes!

And onion bhajis/pakoras used to be a thing but haven't bothered for a while.

For the Rancheros you need to make a tomato sauce - I made mine with blitzed tomatoes (mine from our new greenhouse) and a habanero chilli sliced and diced. Heat a pan with oil, add the sauce and then, when it starts to bubble, make four wells in it and crack in your eggs.
Add the tabasco and Worcestershire just before you add the eggs. Corn tortillas are easy - make your dough using corn flour and water and a knob of butter, then roll it out thin and, if you've got a griddle pan, grease it with a bit of butter and cook each one (I used a little plate to cut them).
Plain yoghurt, a few sprigs of mint well chopped and I add some chives and a pinch of salt. Lovely it is. I'm never doing poached eggs any other way. | |

Petrol at the Morrisons in Witham is about 10p per litre cheaper than anywhere else. Don't know how/why they do it but if you're in the area it's worth a stop. |  | | |
