Me too, although I'm only a fairly recent-ish non-Tory. I like Waitrose - we get staff discount in Morrisons though, so we've been roughing it lately. To be fair, Morrisons make better sausage rolls and their wine selection is excellent.

Yeah sorry, I should have explained to save people watching the whole clip. Owen Jones is pissed off with Starmer for breaking his leadership pledges (sounds reasonable in fairness). Then he goes on to talk about the “most tedious, ridiculous Waitrose customers” being Starmer’s base. So of course the main message is lost and now it’s all about Waitrose.

I once tried to date a girl with an alleged cheese infused muffin. Needless to say I failed. (We used to call her Dairylea on account of her cheesy triangle; which I think was a vicious rumour as none of us saddos got near enough to check lol)

I quite like Morrisons. They have a decent meat counter where you can get some of the bits you can't find most regular supermarkets like bones for stock etc. Reasonable money too on the regular stuff. I'll use Waitrose when I'm near one but that's only as and when. Waitrose really suits people who can't be bothered to cook and do a nice range of ready made foodstuff like M&S. Facters likes it. I'd have you down more as an ingredient hunter than a typical Waitrose punter tbf. [Post edited 28 Jul 2022 20:06]

That's now under new management, and is free for 30 mins. Two hours there will cost you £2.00. And can you sort out the roadworks in Lavenham please. Most inconvenient.

Oh I am - you know me well. I made my own southern fried chicken tonight (chicken thighs, various herbs and spices and a breading) served with home-made coleslaw which included apple, celery, cabbage, carrot and local cherries and a home-made mayo. But I got all the ingredients in Morrisons in Harwich on Tuesday. Paula loves KFC - I don't. She got in at 6.30pm and I've been off all week. Tel and I had lunch in the pub earlier so I'm sort of full up still.

I'll have a word. Car Parking in Bury is a rip-off. What happened to encouraging people to come into town and spend? If you're having a mosey about you want to do so in a leisurely fashion, not be looking at the time every 5 minutes worrying about some trumped up car park charge.

Good to hear you're still knocking up the good food Tashers. I'll do a bit of fried chicken here and there when I can be bothered. Cleaning the fryer out isn't my favourite job but it is worth the effort sometimes! Chicken as you say, fish and chips (chips I usually do in the oven but you can't beat chips done properly in the fryer). And onion bhajis/pakoras used to be a thing but haven't bothered for a while. Always make my own coleslaw too, sometimes with halved grapes, maybe some cashews, that kinda thing.

Sounds good mate! I made Huevas Rancheros the other Sunday morning - eggs poached in chilli-tomato sauce with a few splashes of Tabasco and Worcestershire then served in a corn tortilla with grated extra-mature cheddar and a sour cream sauce I made from yoghurt, my mint and some of my chives. It was messy but lovely - she keeps asking for it for breakfast before she heads off so it's been a normal week of early rising - used to that though (hehehe).

I'll have to give that a go fella. Ribs are another good one for the fryer. Stewed in a liquid of stock, honey, soy etc, dried and then deep fried for a few moments. Reduce the liquid to a thick sticky substance and return the fried ribs for a good coating. Not bad at all old friend.

For the Rancheros you need to make a tomato sauce - I made mine with blitzed tomatoes (mine from our new greenhouse) and a habanero chilli sliced and diced. Heat a pan with oil, add the sauce and then, when it starts to bubble, make four wells in it and crack in your eggs. Add the tabasco and Worcestershire just before you add the eggs. Corn tortillas are easy - make your dough using corn flour and water and a knob of butter, then roll it out thin and, if you've got a griddle pan, grease it with a bit of butter and cook each one (I used a little plate to cut them). Plain yoghurt, a few sprigs of mint well chopped and I add some chives and a pinch of salt. Lovely it is. I'm never doing poached eggs any other way.

" (I used a little plate to cut them)." That's how I tend to do chapatis. Sounds good. I will give a shot sometime and let you know. I'll need to wear a towel down my front I'm sure. I'm not the tidiest with messy food as it is!

Petrol at the Morrisons in Witham is about 10p per litre cheaper than anywhere else. Don't know how/why they do it but if you're in the area it's worth a stop.
