Oooh we're still 2nd and a point closer to top! 14:28 - Dec 3 with 10511 viewscbower

Gutted we didn't win last night but the bed wetting about dropping out of top two was unnecessary.

You could argue a point away at Derby is a better one than a point at home to Fleetwood though. Let’s hope Fleetwood can do a job on them at Hillsborough. Still, glad they didn’t win today and we stay in the top 2.

Need to make the Peterborough fixture count, both Plymouth and Wednesday away next Saturday.. just feels like we are always relying on other teams slipping up.. rather than us seeing games out and not wilting like a lettuce leaf in the sun.

Was a really poor night, especially the second half but no need for the huge overreaction, we are still in a great position but do need to sort out home form out.

Great opportunity to put it right next Saturday

There is a real sense of entitlement among various posters which is why Town supporters are getting a reputation for arrogance. There are two teams in a football match, and last night Fleetwood more than matched us in the second half. They deserve credit for that, yet some people don’t recognise it.

They matched us because we were poor rather than they were good.

Furthermore, yes, we're still second and closer to top. But we could have stolen a march on Plymouth and Wednesday but failed to do so. We got away with the result rather than this round of games being a success.

Some of the overreaction is I think just people letting off steam in the heat of the moment. As someone else pointed out, our league record for the first 10 games is exactly the same record as the next 10 games. It just feels worse because the manner in which we lost 4 points at Charlton and last night.

It's a bit like penalties. Some genuinely believe you should never miss them. The 6foot plus athlete with arms like a gorilla and hands like shovels (the opposition) always has something to do with the outcome. Entitlement breeds complacency and makes you weaker and it can transfer from the crowd to the team!

And, in terms of W6 D3 L1, the three draws have come in the last four, whilst in the first ten they were more spread out.

Agree in sentiment and even the top top teams drop points. But by dropping points last night it simply puts more pressure on the team to beat Peterborough. The comfort blanket of having a few points on third place slowly slips away.

Is it entitlement or the level of expectation based on the resources on and off the field that Town now have compared to the opposition? We bemoaned the lack of investment under the previous ownership that had us at a disadvantage, it's not like that with the current ownership. We should expect better, but credit to Fleetwood's manager who effectively got as much from his resources as our's did from far greater resources. Dissatisfaction is not just about last night, 5 wins in 10 at home is just not good enough, accepting those who like to fund opponents when we're not at home feel differently.

Just saying I think that's why there's more edginess at the moment than there was after the first ten, despite identical records.

Plus nervousness about the immediate future due to the injury situation.

Oh I was absolutely furious, mainly because you could see it coming.

We have conceded a lot of late goals recently which adds to the frustration, I honestly think our toughest games will be ones like last night where teams stay in the game

I think we are tiring, injuries have reduced our options, especially to change things from the bench but I back McKenna to get us through December picking up enough to be right in the mix, then recruit well in January.

There will be ups and downs, we are Ipswich Town we rarely do it easy

true, but a point at home to fleetwood is better than none at home to port vale, so losses and gains there

Fleetwood have only lost 5 all season in the league. And you can see why. Well organised and incredibly hard working. Still hope they get relegated though and Rooney is crying on the last day.

Even if we do eventually win this league we'll still probably have another 10 or so disappointments like last night.

People have to learn to keep it frosty.

Same here - and the anger/frustration is also borne out of the fact we aren’t learning from the (repeated) experience.

A lot of poor teams in this league have their strength in route 1 style football - trouble is it also seems to be our weakness. The obvious answer is to stick to our possession football rather than sitting back - don’t give them a chance of creating a fluke goal.

We've taken 42 points from 20 games, 21 from the first ten, 21 from the second ten. We're pretty consistently good and beat most teams. That's what a title-winning team looks like, but along the way we'll play badly and drop points a bunch more times because that's what happens in football.

That’s alright then if we are a title-winning team then - we can all stop worrying now if the future is guaranteed.

Trouble is the way we are dropping these points seems to be getting very predicable too.

I don't think it's particularly necessary to worry after every bad result when overall you're picking up plenty of points, no.

Fleetwood did not play. Route One football. They had a majority of possession in the second half . They played out of their skins and deserved their point.

Agree - but their goal (and the chance just before it) was from pumping the ball into the box.

I think it's Incorrect to call it entitlement.

There are however beliefs that with the resources available we shouldn't have made life in league 1 as difficult as we have.

Also a game like yesterday followed only a couple weeks back that painful draw at Charlton which itself had followed further games of letting leads go.

It's just frustration.

End of day we will all celebrate together if we win promotion. Doesn't matter if you've been calm and patient through the season or if you've blown a fuse every week. We will all be celebrating.
