Ironically beating Oxford away…..

I'm can't decide what answer to give...

A) Last year called and wants their analysis back
B) I guess you missed the part where they got 6pts in their last 4 league games, losing 3-0 at home to Bolton and 2-0 to Charlton. Not to mention losing 3-0 to Derby in the cup
C) If Ipswich had their record in the last four games this forum would be liquid.
D) The long and arduous march towards the play offs
E) What is ironic about a play off team beating a mid table team?

He didn't. I'm not sure we've massively missed the 6 goal contribution he's made at Barnsley, what with Freddie and Chappers both hitting double figures already. Really don't think Norwood is close to the level of technical ability required to play the way McKenna has us playing either.

It wouldn't be TWTD if there wasn't at least one person worrying about every possible scenario where it could go wrong.

If Peterborough win their two games in hand people can start worrying about them as well.

When you say "If Ipswich had their record in the last four games this forum would be liquid" - worth pointing out we have 5 points in 4 league games compared to their 6

I watched parts of the game last night and Norwood looked like a significant downgrade on what we have now.

He was a headless chicken.

This is a fairly tiresome narrative you're spinning around Norwood.

He didn't suit the way we play (in my opinion) and he missed countless sitters towards the end of last season (usually put on a plate by Celina).

Making light of his two drink driving charges also isn't a great idea in my opinion.

Also worth noting that Norwood has 6 goals in 23 appearances this season in all competitions, Chaplin and Ladapo are miles ahead of that and Burns, Harness etc are all around there from midfield.

Given how well Barnsley are doing his scoring ratio isn't very good. He's averaging 244 minutes per league goal.

What narrative am I spinning? And how am I making light of his DD offences. I'm quoting word for word how he was described by certain members of this board. People you consider your friends so maybe pull them on making light of his DD.

Have we got better players in our starting eleven? Yes.

Was Ahadme in any way an upgrade on Norwood? From what we have seen so far, not a chance.

Was he 'pub player who couldn't stay sober'? No. And people who described him as such obviously don't watch or have any interest in football.

And there is every chance that this 'pub player who couldn't stay sober will bite us in the arse if we meet Barnsley in the Play Offs.

edit. Oh and he had a Bar-B-Q at his home one summer, the absolute swine.

Ladapo is much better though for a starting option.

Didn't Ahadme score 5 at Burton before joining us? He then got injured very early on here. I am not convinced Norwood is a better option to be honest.

Norwood wouldn't make our starting eleven. But as an impact sub when you are looking to get a goal at the end, I think he would have been of use to us.

Freddie Ladapo's goals scored per 90 minutes is 0.53. James Norwood's goals scored per 90 minutes is 0.43. A goal either way and they are level.

Hopefully Freddie pulls way ahead against Cambridge on Saturday.

That must be the league I guess?

For all competitions (well League, FA Cup and EFL Cup) Norwood is 0.37 per 90 and Ladapo is 0.57 per 90 which equates to 54% better.

Yeah, League One. Which, with the greatest respect, is all that really matters come the ned of the season.

https://footystats.org/players/england/james-norwood

https://footystats.org/players/england/freddie-ladapo#:~:text=Freddie%20Ladapo%2

But again, to reiterate, Freddie is head and shoulders above Norwood as a player imo.

edit. Also, looking at the cards stat, Freddie is a far more disciplined player. But we already knew that,

Form table doesn't lie, last 6 and 10:
https://thefishy.co.uk/formtable.php?table=3

Having said that I actually think the draw with Burnley last weekend will act as proof that we shouldn't be fearing any team in this division. If we apply the same defensive focus/approach to our remaining league one games, then we should keep up pace with the top 2 spots.
