Myself and my wife are running the London Landmarks Half Marathon this weekend, and raising money for Tommys the baby charity, who support couples through their pregnancy journeys.
We had a miscarriage around 7 years ago, and just wasn't something I'd ever considered and very little support around this - it was only because we had friends who had been through similar that we were able to get through this and find the support in the right places and was especially hard for Mrs itfcjoe who just had to play the waiting game and be expected to carry on as normal
We are incredibly fortunate now to have 2 happy, healthy children - but not everyone is able to get to that happy ending as quickly or at all.
I know times are tough at moment, and not expecting much but if anyone has a spare few quid it would be greatly appreciated

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who sponsored me, blown away by the generosity of TWTD and other places - I’m a bit behind in thanking everyone individually but will do so today!
I hit a bit of a wall at around 9 miles and was a struggle from there, I’ve been unwell in recent weeks and it really hurt me but got round in a respectable 2:24 - carrying an extra 2 stone than when I did last time definitely slowed me down!
But more importantly we have so far raised nearly £2k for an excellent and important charity - and it has helped me start conversations with other men about a really important subject.
If anyone has donated anonymously as well, a big thank you too as won’t be able to say thank you personally - every bit helps and you guys have excelled yourself again! | |
