Are they so arrogant they assumed they were guaranteed to go straight back up? They really are imploding as a fan base. All to our benefit

Pukki one of their ‘greatest ever players’. A forward with 22 top flight goals for them.

Greatest ever players.

Absolute state of that football club.

Can't see anything there about them expecting to go straight back up, but I expect they did. Most relegated clubs do expect to and they had done several times in the last few seasons. Their lack of investment in trying to stay up is on the basis they then bounce straight back up.

However, I did find this amusing "One of our greatest ever players is leaving. I imagine many of us will be there to say thanks."

Imagine counting the likes of Pukki and Holt among their "greatest ever players"!

I have a budgie friend who's not chirping as loudly now as he has been in recent seasons. He is of the opinion that their run of pulling rabbits out of hats with managers and players is well and truly over, for now at least. They are now no more than an expensively assembled bunch of misfits. I'm keeping my powder dry for now, but I'm quietly confident he knows what's coming

Wow. Marcus Stewart scored nearly as many in one season! How many times did Wark, Mariner, Crawford et al score that many in one season?

He is one of their greatest ever players. Wow! His record must be on a par with someone like Chris Kiwomya.

I saw that they are having a vote on which six "legends" will have their images displayed outside the ground. Some fairly tragic names suggested.

Six presumably chosen... oh you know where I'm going with this.

Yes we all know where you're going.

Anyway as an aside, i'd go for these legends:
Robert Chase
Gary Megson
Rob Ullathorne
Ricky van Wolfswinkel
Michael Theoklitos
Robert Eagle

Spoilt for choice really

One of my favourites has to be Dean Ashton being in their Hall Of ‘Fame’.

44 appearances, 17 goals, one hat-trick, a relegation and then jumped ship the very next transfer window, having achieved the square root of f*** all at Norwich.

Retired at 26. Presumably from embarrassment.

Is he seriously in their hall of fame?! That's fewer games than Finidi George played for us.

To be fair, Chambers is seen as a legend at ITFC by many.

Whilst amusing the irony is those profiles are not too far off they type of player they will end up with.

It's a shallow pool but inwould guess

Craig Bellamy
Bryan Gunn ( who could appear on ours for the air kick alone)
Iwan Roberts
Grant Holt or Chris Sutton
Pukki
And presumably Jeremy Goss coz he once did a volly

I hate Norwich as much as the next man and love to see them imploding but you can't bash them for their love of Pukki. I think that's a bit unfair.

He scored 25-30 goals to get them promoted twice and then scored a fairly decent tally when they were crap in the Prem so we'd be the same if he was ours.

We idolise Marcus Stewart (my favourite ever player) but he only scored 25 top flight goals for us. Does that make him less of a legend here? Not a chance.

That ‘defending’ for Swanseas’ 3rd goal was one of the greatest moments in their recent history! 2 defenders who literally could not be arsed😂

I think Pukki was one of those players who was above average in the championship but was not quite good enough against top defenders.
I was never that interested to see what his conversion rate was like but he did have loads of chances created for him when they were firing in the championship.

He's "not in the top 10 greatest" apparently. I think the word "greatest" is a moot point but I can't think more than nine others have done more for them.

The correlation between buendia leaving and pukki effectiveness almost run side by side, without buendia norwich look hopelessly lost and lack creativity. Buendia has surely got to be considered up there with jeremy goss and kevin lisbie as one of the all time norwich greats

OP: YES they ARE so arrogant as to believe they’d go straight back up. They’ve always been an arrogant fan base. Why or how they feel they are a cut above is a mystery . I think they truly believe all their norwich based media spouted relentlessly by Look narwich, and BBC About narwich. They’re a complete joke of a club, when you consider the amount of Sky money they’ve received and they rarely got out of the bottom three when in the PL. Truly laughable .

Oh they once beat Bayern Munich apparently . They just forgot to mention it was in a rebuilding / transition period for the German club.

Poll: Would this current Town team beat the current narwich team
