Yeah it's a disaster, might really impact our promotion push.

Oh no!!!

We'll have to rely on Luongo and Ball.

May as well hand that promotion back.

Our captain has played every minute of every match in the run it. Probably with knocks and strains. Much needed rest. The fact that we can bring in Ball as a replacement at this level is ridiculous.

Will be good to see how Ball does in the middle, important game for him perhaps.

Interesting no CM options on the bench!

Don't know why the OP's getting such pelters, of course losing Morsy's a massive blow in terms of winning this game.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Well this will tell us how much the team needs Sam won’t it. It’ll give us an indication of just how much he influences the team…. Which I think is a lot.

It's a blow yes, but it's not massive. If we genuinely think Morsy is a critical difference between having a realistic chance of beating Fleetwood then our optimism about the championship might be a little misguided.

No one said he's a critical difference for beating Fleetwood, they said it's a massive blow. And to lose your captain from any game is a massive blow. Not sure why you're being so spiky about it.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

I think massive is a bit much, it's a blow but Ball should be more than good enough to deal with Fleetwood who have nothing to play for other than pride.

I’ve heard it on good authority (voices in my head) that he’s joining Colchester along with Chaplin and Wes. Clearing out the dead wood innit.

I’d be more worried that Clarke is probably still p!55ed up and that’s why he’s not starting

Not intending to be spiky - I think we've got to a point where we have a squad where we're not dependent on one player so I think massive is too much.

I'd say Broadhead, Davis or Chaplin would all be bigger losses (based on the difference in quality replacing them)

If we were ever going to be without him then I'd rather today than any game over the last few weeks.

Massive blow is, for me, an over-statement as others have indicated.

To have a player like Dominic Ball available to step in is reassuring - perhaps I should say massively reassuring.

I don't understand the negativity about Ball.

I think Sam's influence on this team is bulletproof after the season he's had, Ball entering prime Pirlo mode or not. Would be great to show our strength in depth today - Fleetwood yet to lose a game by 3...

JD fully deserves to start the dead rubber for his performances with us in this division. I'm not expecting a big dip in that area either.

Over-statement, perhaps. Not sure it warranted "May as well hand that promotion back. Give it a rest fella." Bit of an extreme reaction!

Also, saying losing your captain is a massive blow I don't think is necessarily being really negative about Ball.

I believe you used it to express your admiration for Sam and we're all on the same page here lol. It's a massive player lost but it hopefully won't result in a massive dent in our performance today, with Ball a very able deputy 🤞

I was more defending the OP who seemed to be getting disproportionate pelters for a fairly innocuous comment (I thought).

I messaged thus to a mate: "That's gutting to lose Morsy, although probably the best game to lose him from!"

Probably get told I'm wetting my knickers and throwing my toys out now I've posted it on here!

Seems like you're as overeactionary as the OP. "Gutting"? The job is done, just enjoy it!
