Legitimate Transfer Targets 09:10 - May 15 with 6035 viewsCityBlue

Jan Paul van Hecke - CB- Brighton
Free agent summer, played on loan at Blackburn in Championship and won player of the year
Pros: age, height, international caps at U21, low fee/free

Reiss Nelson - RW - Arsenal
Contract expiring but wage demands within our reach and other option for him is West Ham who may yet fall into the relegation battle. Spent a season with Feyenoord on loan. Will have to act fast to beat West Ham to his signature.

Tom Davies - CM - Everton
Another out of contract player who may want to exit Goodison following such a terrible year for the Toffees. Good friend of Nathan Broadhead.
Age on his side and wages within reach - brings a wealth of premiership experience under successive poor managers.

JPvH is a possibility
Nelson will be way out of our reach - quite rightly he'll prob stay in the Prem
Davies - hmm, possible I suppose

Reiss Nelson? He'll be off for £15m minimum.

On what basis do you say Davies and Nelson have wages within our reach?!

Brighton have a 1-year option on Van Hecke. Blackburn's player of the season, so he'll be expensive and in demand. Young and right footed probably isn't what we're looking for in a centre back.

Reiss Nelson is weeeeeeeeeeell out of reach. He's been a useful impact sub for Arsenal this season and has had good loan spells at Hoffenheim and Feyenoord. No way his next stop is the Championship.

If Davies drops to the Championship his wage demands as an out-of-contract player will be enormous.

Be none of those players the Arsenal lad will be 10 million plus
Tom Davies probably not much better than we have I want hungry young players who are striving to get to the too here with the odd experienced player in key positions to help them .

Says football manager?

He's just rejected a new contract at arsenal probably worth 3 or 4 times that amount... He will go to Europe I suspect

He'll be picked up by West Ham when Rice goes I imagine.

I don't think we'll be beating West Ham to any signatures. They seem to have had the 4th highest net transfer spend of all Premier league clubs over the last 5 years, and their average attendance has been 2nd only to Man Utd this season. We will be fishing in more modest waters, polishing gems, and doing so pretty well I reckon.

I am pretty certain Tyreece John-Jules will be an ITFC Player over the summer.

(that sounds like 3 different players to me...)

Be very surprised if G Hirst doesnt get offered a deal and takes it, he seems quite at home here.

Just signed a new young keeper, not thinking of him as a No.2 to Walton, but does sound like some movement there possibly for Hladky, who is a bit too good to be a bench warmer.

Like the idea of bolstering defence, another CB, particularly as Edmundson has suffered this long term injury.

Ideally an additional Forward/Striker to give plenty of options up front as we come up against stronger defence than L1 has.

Alex Scott
James Ward Prowse

And now Reiss Nelson ffs

Evan Ferguson - likely he's going to nail down a regular spot, but club will want him getting regular games, McK is a fan, reckon we'll be after him again, even if it's just a loan.

Colby Bishop - interesting one this, been linked before, McK likes him, but will he prefer to tap into the pool of players playing higher up that's just opened up to us, now we've been promoted?

Now we've secured promotion, I reckon the target list for recruitment has probably changed somewhat and as we don't know what sort of money Gamechanger have given for budget etc, this is the first time in years I don't really have a clue about what players are realistically going to be on the radar, quite exciting really.

I think several of us will be very surprised at who we get this summer.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

Absolute zero chance one of the best young forwards in the Premier League is coming here sorry.

Van Hecke could be a shout, will have a lot of clubs after him though.

Nelson will be way out of our price bracket and wouldn't want to come here anyway.

Wouldn't want Tom Davies.

Evan Ferguson. Genuinely? One of Brighton’s best players who are pushing for Europe?

Seems like I need to edit my above post.

Evan Ferguson is even more ridiculous than Reiss Nelson

Davies going to Norwich apparently.

It would be interesting to see if he (or any other player) is subject to a direct competition for signature between us and the yellow mob this summer. I wonder which club is {A} the more appealing (at least to a young and promising player) and {B} has the most financial clout.

I suspect that we would come out on top in at least one of those considerations, and probably both unless they manage to sell what they consider to be one of their remaining saleable players for more than a few million.

Evan Furguson hahaha

Yeah I can see Brighton sending him on loan to us next season. Very legitimate.

Yeah, probably right, I mean, why would you want to send out an 18 year old for regular first team football in the Championship, nobody would be that daft. Hang on, what was that kids name that went to Sunderland? Oh, Diallo, that's the one, wonder why the idiots at Man U did that?

Well they're totally different players in totally different situations for starters.
