Because I’d be a tad embarrassed. Surely we should all aim higher no ? Just not for me. Do something off piste or scaled down like a park event but open top bus …no thanks

Big difference and sorry to burst your bubble BB but that was to the premier league - poles apart As for a new team , changing after more than 45 years isn’t really the done thing either but thanks for the advice After living life in Sheffield all season and suffering their painstaking bollox week in and week out up here , I’ll not agree regardless.

Good God on 18:34 - May 30 with 4047 views | HighgateBlue | There's a "Football" tab and a "General" tab. We're getting to the point where we need a "Sheffield Wednesday" tab. It's weird, and embarrassing. We finished above them, in second. We should be happy and concentrating on ourselves, rather than obsessing about some other team that we drew against twice, and which happens to be in our division next season. ENOUGH ALREADY.
Good God on 18:35 - May 30 with 4046 views | portmanking | Definitely agree that an open top bus for a League 1 playoff win is a bit much... Comparisons with us in 2000 are silly, that was promotion to the top flight. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I think you are right. They will just be another team in our division.

MH, how do Owls fans come across to you F2F? Are they as arrogant as they are (appear) on social media? I used to live in the city and I used to have a lot of time for them. But this season (and when I went Hillsborough a few years ago to watch Town), bloody hell, what an arrogant bunch of prats a lot of them come across as. I’ve lost all respect for them tbh. I know every fan base has its prats. But them seem to have taken it to a whole new level!

Good God on 19:05 - May 30 with 3786 views | J2BLUE | Why wouldn't they? If they have an event that goes well, and it will do, then it resets relations between fans and the club/players/management before the new season. It serves a purpose.

I guess in that respect they have a lot to repair from both parties but it still stinks

TBH Arnie the Blades fans are fine and always have been. Lived here now for best part of 11-12 years and through experiences with the Sheffield guys I play football with on a Thursday , customers , friends and the in laws , I have to say the Wednesday lot are really a strange breed. Like people have said all clubs have their own strange followers but locally all I can say is the Wednesday fans have more than most

Come now we're mostly over the Plymouth phase so that's progress-ish. And with the parade scheduled for tomorrow there's a chance we'll return to being an Ipswich forum by June 😅
Good God on 19:21 - May 30 with 3575 views | Wakh | Can't believe you are even questioning it. How else are the fans supposed to throw their torn up tickets and fag lighters at Darren Moore?

Oh well thanks for that. I actually really like the South Yorkshire people when I lived there. Very friendly snd down to earth and often quite funny. I’ve got some good friends there still. I lived in the Fulwood area. I used to run in those days … near bloody killed me lol, bloody hills!!!

Good God on 21:02 - May 30 with 3176 views | wkj | I would say Weds are totally right for celebrating this way. On paper they had a remarkable season and one that would have been really hard to live down without promotion. They played well against all odds in the play off and won a cagey game against a team who did the double over them in the league. This is the catharsis I would love if it were us who had just gone through playoff hell.

Good God on 21:25 - May 30 with 3117 views | PioneerBlue | Open top buses and civic receptions for title and cup wins. I suppose they did bring a cup back which seems odd because didn’t we only come away with medals or is there a second place trophy which I haven’t seen!

Good God on 21:32 - May 30 with 3079 views | BigCommon | Dont see any harm in it. They won a trophy at Wembley. It'll create a bit of business in their town, on the day.. And help the club engage, or in some cases re-engage, with the community. I'm pretty sure our club would use the opportunity to do the same. Don't think they've lifted any silverware since 90-91 League Cup. So they are a bit like us, in having a generation of supporters that haven't witnessed much success. Young fans and kiddies will love seeing their team parading a trophy. Regardless if its L1 play off winners. I'm in no way a huge fan of SW. But there is some fairly obvious reasoning , as to why they'd have a celebration, here, imo.

Good God on 21:28 - May 30 by Vegtablue | Forgot about Bournemouth that was a great phase! We should pencil in a different club each week until the new season starts. I would like to nominate Watford for July 10th week, shared a house with one of their lot around 2014 and he was a right pain. |
We’ve had a Watford phase as well remember. I can’t remember now what triggered that. Funny how individual experiences shape our view of a whole fanbase. I’ve always had a soft spot for Watford as I’ve a good mate who’s a proper fan and we’ve seen them lots of times together. I shared a house with a Coventry fan once who was a right tool, so I’ll nominate them. Stoke are a bit pointless too, so they might be another option?

Is that more or less tinpot than arranging a football match to celebrate LOSING a UEFA Cip 3rd round tie? Must be close.

Nah it’s league one. Not the same. If we get promoted to the premier league again I’ll hire my own open top bus and windmill with a bottle of champagne in one hand and a made up tin foil trophy in the other. I was there in 2000. Can you post the celebrations of the inbreds celebrating their play of defeat. Surely that didn’t happen?!
