I’ve never understood the dislike of the Hammers by some. A proper old fashioned football club with a great history.

Glad they won.

There's not a single reason to like them; I think I might have had a reasonably long chat with LL about this before.

Pleased for Cresswell though.

They were my boyhood team.

And we won the World Cup.

Anyhoo - when are we going to hit the City again baby???

I hate them. I’m surrounded by them. I have cousins, uncles, mates, my brother, etc all out in Prague right now and i was praying they’d lose. Absolutely fuc**ng hate them.

Obviously the scum are who I’m supposed to hate the most and I do. But my West Ham hatred happened organically and naturally. Awful club. 99% of the fanbase are massive c**ts and they’re egos and opinion as a fanbase about their team is absolutely ridiculous. F**k them.

Er, can you clarify whether it’s your family you hate or West Ham?

Why do support Ipswich when I’m assuming most of your family are West Ham supporters?

I appreciate your balanced view Rommy.

You might not want to hear this but many fans of WHU have sort of switched here and there with Ipswich - and bear us no harm.

I have a friend (hopefuly in Goldfingers right now) from Colchester who is West Ham but likes Ipswich because we are next door. In fact I know a few like this.

I also don't get the WHU hatred, my mates are abusing me on whatsapp - Why???

I think we should live in harmony****

I work in hornchurch/Romford so am surrounded by 'appy ammers'.
Bet the Drill pub is a mess tonight. It's always done out in WHU flags.

It’s the supporters. Not that I hate my family but cousins etc spent all my childhood mocking that I supported Ipswich and how I should ‘support a big club like west ham’.
1) They’re not a big club.
2) I’ll support who I like.
3) understand mocking fans of clubs they’re never gonna watch play. Like a kid in my school would legitimately answer ‘Barcelona’ as his team. But Ipswich were always going to be a team I’d be watching week in week out.
4) They tried to get me to support West Ham, I even went to a few games but they’re just a horrible fanbase. So many di**heads support them.
5) Uppa Towen

I was actually bought an Ipswich kit for my third birthday. The orange one. It was like a joke present from my uncle. Purely because I liked tractors at that age. Little would he know that it made me start to watch the games on tv as I got older. Would have my dad tell me the scores on teletext, cried the day Tommy miller left us the first time aged 7, got tickets for Southend/Ipswich for my 10th birthday and then would become a diehard supporter.

I still get mocked for Ipswich. But at least I go. We might be sh** but they’re my team and I’d have it no other way. In fact I’m quite proud of supporting Ipswich. Had a cricket match tonight and the clubhouse was being used as a moneymaker to stream the game for £10 a ticket and a free pint chucked in. I was captain of the team and walked through with an Ipswich shirt on purposely to highlight I wasn’t West Ham. Don’t know why I did that but I guess it’s definitely a pride thing. I don’t want to be associated with West Ham and most people assume they’d be my team. At uni I’d have people guess them first every time they’d try to work out who I support. But I’m Ipswich. Perhaps not in location but in mind and heart.

If you were brought up in Chelmsford in the 70s/80s (which I appreciate you weren't) then you'd understand it. The two big teams then, in my school, were West Ham and Ipswich (as they were the two nearest big clubs). With Spurs a close 3rd. I also had a cocky mate who was a Hammer.

I hated Wet Spam long before I even knew about Norwich.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

That was one of the pubs we had to do the maintenance and compliance work on for a few years, big old pub there.

The other West Ham pub we do is more randomly the Railway in Thetford, but I did see their flag at the semi

I grew up just 30 minutes up the road from you in Clacton. Our school was probably 70% Ipswich, 20% Hammers and 10% Liverpool. Had loads of mates who were Hammers fans and they, along with Liverpool, were our rivals back then.

Couldn’t hate them though. A great old club with World Cup winners, classy players and I loved going to the Boleyn.

Born in Hornchurch and lived there until I was 12. Never followed the hammers though as Spurs were the team I followed then. Gilzean, Chivers and Jennings were in the side then.
Live in Clacton now and still surrounded by hammer fans.

This is as always absolutely correct.

I will warn you all now, if I see a *single* positive post about Man City this weekend or “I support all the English clubs in Europe” or similar I will be reporting to the FBI. YOU HAVE ALL BEEN WARNED.
