Anyone think he maybe close to getting a start following a couple of albeit decent Carabao Cup performances and Hladky mistakes Saturday?

No. Hladky has been very good.

Dropping someone for one poor game or a couple of errors is not the way to manage your squad.

Truly impaired.

Nope. Wasn’t great for either of Reading’s goals.

I have not seen enough of him and presumably no one else has but would have thought it’s a no for now.

This. He's got potential but has done nothing to usurp Hladky.

Would you have dropped the keeper who conceded this on 1.10?

Or the keeper who spilled this on 1.30? Very similar to the Leeds goal on Saturday.

Of course not. Keepers will make the odd mistake. But Hladky has won us more points than he has cost us so far.

Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's over

Not sure he did much last night that Hladky wouldn't. Good penalty save but looked a bit flappy for the opener, and they didn't have a shot on target until the 88th minute.

Hladky until Walton gets fit, then he comes straight back in for me.

I think he is a talented GK with a bright future - and what I presume was a nominal fee seems and likely prove to be very good business long term (Especially with James Trafford, who was in his age group at Man City going for near £20M - which in itself seemed an inflated fee.

He is very much your modern GK, athletic, brave and technically solid with the ball at his feet.

Having said that, Hladky retains the shirt currently, one error v Leeds is not worthy of anybody to be dropped from the side.

Slicker will learn & develop and continue to play Cup games, but he is very much a long term project than an immediate short term one.

Agreed. I didn't see the game so can only go off the highlights but the 2 goals he wasn't great. The stats show he didn't have much else to do in terms of shot stopping.

I find it weird people thinking this youngster should be near Hladky after one poor game from him.

I’d say it was 3 errors against Leeds to be fair, although one went unpunished.

But I agree it’s too early to be bringing Slicker in. Hladky to keep the shirt until Walton comes back unless he has a string of poor performances

I have sympathy for him on the second but he should have been more commanding and attempt to gather the cross for the first rather than flapping at it.

Not a lot Williams has done wrong there for me. Which makes that BBC Sport tweet even more baffling.

Miles off it judging by his error yesterday and the goal he gave away vs Bremen by dropping a cross on someone's foot. Could end up being good but nowhere near ready for the Champ yet, clearly.

Miles off it?

I think he'll be our number 2 next season and I wouldn't be overly worried if he had to come in this season but he's firmly behind the other 2 and shouldn't start if they're available.
I remember Wright debuting at 17 but can't remember what age he became the number 1?

I can't think of the other two?

Only the parry for the Piroe goal which either should have been pushed further wide or held on to.

He didn't really make an error yesterday though did he?

He was out to intercept a ball and it ricochet off his own defender (not Williams fault either) - was just a freak scenario really.

He dropped against Bremen, which he'd catch 99/100 - but did also make 2 very good saves in that game, as well as handful of really good saves v Bristol Rovers.

You're OTT in your assessment.

He did the exact same thing that he did for the Piroe goal in the second half but thankfully it fell to one of our lads (Wolf?) who cleared it.

He did very poorly for Gnontos goal too. Should never be letting a ball bounce in the 6 yard box heading towards the back post like he did.

I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt though and say it was a bad day at the office. He doesn’t fill me with confidence but I’d still rather stick with him for now than throw in an untested Slicker.
