Taylor looked well off the pace for 25 minutes but feel he's improving as the game is progressing. Different type of player to Luongo but he's got through some important work in the midfield. | |

A bit over-confident with some stuff at times but what's great is if it doesn't work it doesn't rock him in any way, just keeps going and trying things. |  |

Only slight downside is he makes the wrong decision with his passing a bit too often, but that is splitting the finest of hairs, and he is improving very, very rapidly in his performances here. 9/10 half. Superb.

KM is very keen on ensuring players get up to speed on 'how' we play and what is expected of players. Some will naturally take longer than others.
For me, Taylor just needs a little more time. Whereas Lunogo has played at this level, Hutch has been training at a much higher level - this type of football for Taylor is probably something he's not experienced before.

Maybe it is over-confidence, but I am impressed with how he tries high-risk/high-reward plays. He clearly had great vision. When he set up Wes he was running slightly towards the left and there was an obvious out ball outside him to the left, but Southampton had covered it and it would have almost certainly have been held up. Instead he shaped to play that way and no-look passed it to Wes. | | | |
