Repeated mistakes.. 20:37 - Oct 30 with 4137 views | FrimleyBlue | Can anyone say they've got a handful of mistakes that have been repeated on the pitch so far this season? KM has of course mentioned most weeks. Things to work on. Individually some areas to improve. Sit down and talk to them etc. And I cant say I personally can think of a phase of play that was negative that's been repeated...

When Moray goes to the Africa Cup of Nations one option is to stick Walton back in goal and slot Hladky into CM. *joke*

No. You've taken it the wrong way completely. It's literally just a compliment about how I don't feel we make the same mistakes twice.. and that our coaching team really does seem to sort out those individual errors.

Repeated mistakes.. on 13:19 - Oct 31 with 2877 views | BigCommon | I think KM is pretty good at ensuring we don't repeatedly make the same errors.. Even in-game... And when its a problem that involves us , just not having the right personnel. He and Ashton have done their best to sort it in the windows.. First proper window, we addressed our LB and Striker problems.. Last Jan, bringing in Broadhead, a player that can unlock stubborn defences, (plus Hutch this season) And all the while , continually adding a bit more athleticism to our squad. I think the tactical side, the classroom stuff, might be where some players have fallen short, and have raised some eyebrows when moved on. Again, though, KM , here just ensuring that players prone to repeated errors are not here to commit them, frequently.. You also have to give McKenna credit, for , not just chucking someone in the starting eleven, because we shelled out on them. He tries his best to make sure they are as ready as possible and up to the task in hand.... Clarke and Taylor spring to mind..Theres 3m quid right there, that most teams would be obliged to play every week.
Repeated mistakes.. on 13:27 - Oct 31 with 2852 views | BigCommon | Not so much a repeated mistake, but something I've found a little surprising, is how we've seemingly struggled a bit, against 10 men... Sunderland away and Plymouth on Saturday, I fully expected us to gain more control with the extra man, and see things out more comfortably in both games.... Something tactical, that we could possibly work on there, imo.

We are going to get caught out at the back this way eventually and the sh*t storm that we will get from some fans who don’t understand McKenna, football and how we play is going to be unbearable. The thing that is so superb about how we play and Hladky and the defensive line currently is they know exactly when to pass it about and draw the pressure but also when there is enough danger of high press just to get rid. They’ve basically been perfect this season on this. However they will get it wrong at some stage and it will cost us a goal. Can we just accept errors happen sometimes, not crucify the team for ‘fecking about it with it at the back’ and try understand that the way we play and perfect 95% of the time is fundamental to the excitement, amazing form and attacking incisiveness this team displays. If we don’t take the risks of playing that way we would be some a shadow of the side we currently are and wouldn’t be enjoying this amazing transition of our football club!! Some of our fans still need to learn modern football and what is needed to be successful without unlimited resources.

It's definitely buying us wins, from possible draws, imo. That bit of risk is being rewarded.. And if we do get caught out, well, I think it will be the first time, in almost 2yrs of Mckenna ball..

Agreed, but there won't be any need to change it due to where we're currently at. If we started conceding crap goals left, right and centre because of it, then there's a problem. You need two brave midfielders for it to work with excellent close control.

That's probably the biggest adjustment Taylor is having to make. Rather than facing the opposition goal and fighting for 2nd balls it's the ability to take it off the back 4 and keeper in tight areas. He's a really good player though, showed some nice touches on Saturday again including in the build up to the 3rd. I like the look of him.

Absolutely! But the personal McKenna has put together means the team can play this way. Sure a Morsy was already here but we have specifically brought in players that can play this way and will continue to do so. If we started letting in goals left right and centre as a direct result of playing this way ( which I don’t think will happen) then only a change of approach would be taken until personnel can be brought in to continue to play this way. Football for me is not solely about possession. (Posession % is one of the most meaningless in football that Lambert teams always had high amounts of) It’s about how the ball is used and speed of moving it forward. This is what we have absolutely nailed! It makes us the incredible team we are currently but it’s not as simple as saying let’s do it otherwise all teams would. It’s needs to be coached and have players who can do it, understand and have the trust and confidence to do it.

I can’t remember where I read it but the goal keeper said he is the extra man and he invites players on to him in order to create space in front of him. He conceded it might not always work but that is the way the manager wanted him to play. Modern football has evolved, the big yahoo, unless space at the back is out of date. I must confess it took me some time to acknowledge the change, just shows what I know!

Repeated mistakes.. on 21:14 - Oct 31 with 2502 views | MK1 | Like I said earlier, I would be amazed if people start slagging off any of the players or staff this season. McKenna has to say things to improve on (he doesn't want the players to become complacent) but he doesn't really believe it. We are doing amazingly and everybody knows it.
