Haha! The way things are going that sadly could become true. Funnily enough, just the other day I was wondering whether austerity might become the new global message of the West. Already successfully road-tested on Western populations to see whether they would go along with it while conveniently sidestepping any notion of a just and equitable redistribution of wealth and “democratic” power back to the people.

Probably steadies the ship but comes with a fair amount of baggage from the past - which has already been pointed out by the opposition isn’t very forward looking. Will the gamble pay off? [Post edited 13 Nov 2023 10:35]

| David Cameron - foreign secretary? on 11:01 - Nov 13 with 2101 views | Churchman | So the shiny faced idiot that brought us unnecessary austerity, a broken economy, the totally avoidable disaster of Brexit and the probable breakup of the U.K. is given one of the top jobs in government. Got to be some kind of joke, surely? Maybe Sunak will scuttle out of No 10 later saying ‘haaaa, that got you! Only joking!’ | | | |

Who is going to champion their very real concerns now? I really feel for these people.

'Not Very' won't be anymore competent than Cruella but he might spend slightly less time pandering to the Very Real Concerns of nazis. Might.

| David Cameron - foreign secretary? on 13:08 - Nov 13 with 1792 views | N2_Blue | Is it some kind of sick joke that the man that is responsible for the Brexit mess that this country finds itself in (whatever way you voted it's a mess) is now made foreign secretary. All the leaders of other countries will laugh in his face seeing what damage he's done to his own country in dealing/trading with our foreign counterparts. | |
