we've made a lot of fans happy this Xmas period - unfortunately not in Suffolk 22:19 - Dec 29 with 2418 viewsorfordbuoy

The rivals' forums was full of - Ipswich will drop points (be found out) at Christmas and no strength in depth. Kinda looks that way, unfortunately.

Obviously, ll's not lost, but struggling to QPR - whatever the circumstances - does not bode well for autos.

That was pretty much the stiffs, vs an established champ team. Did well not to lose really.

The only Muff in Town.

The loudest of which are the Leeds lot, and they need to be looking closer to home anyway. Since their drubbing of us, they have lost twice so all they've gained on us until now is a massive 1 point.

Let's not sh*t the bed just yet. We've just got through our toughest run of games so far this season and other than the Leeds game have held our own.

We were never likely to have kept up our relentless form from most of the first half of the season. Today was just an unlucky set of coincidences aligning, take the best 4 or 5 players out of any team in this league and they will struggle.

So glad Leeds lost again, lovely. They would be unbearable right now otherwise. Obviously it's Southampton threatening us lately but I will always be glad to see Leeds sink.

I am glad they are happy with where they are. I am happy with where we are too. It's great that everyone's happy. Southampton and Leicester have done well over Christmas. Leeds have only gained 1 point on us over that period. I am sure Southampton will hit a rough patch at some point. The important thing is that we get back on it and maintain the position we have already got ourselves into.

We’re still second with a cushion of three points.

Ok, not a great December but win the next match, hopefully get a couple of players in early and enjoy a two week break from the league. Oh, and the regulars can get a rest.

We’re still in the driving seat for automatic promotion.

And Leeds can f**k off - a badly supported arse of a club.

Norwich is the one we'll regret. Two points dropped there. None dropped tonight, considering the circumstances.

What exactly were your expectations on Dec 1st, points wise, from Coventry, Watford, M’boro, Leeds, Norwich, Leicester and QPR?

Secondly, if you are an ITFC supporter, why do you care what other rivals’ forums think?

We were missing Morsy, Davis, Hirst, Broadhead, and Burns. Any side missing those players are going to be significantly worse for it.

A decent draw against Leicester, wins away at Watford, and Boro, and a draw in a fiery derby game. I’d argue the Leeds game was the only poor result, and more significantly the only poor performance.

Dry your eyes mate.

1. This isn't about me.
2. It's a pisser those predixtions were right - that we found Xmas hard going and we do not have that strength in depth.

Nowt radical there.

Of course we are going to drop points, and there will be dropped points to come.

Let’s remain humble and acknowledge how incredibly well this group is doing to overachieve, take one game at a time, and enjoy the journey.

And you know what, if we fumble a bit, and you throw your toys out the pram - you’re an absolute disgrace.

I can see some venting in this thread.

Again, it's not about me - it's about those predictions, unfortunately, being right.

But keep shouting the same old, tired insults if it makes you feel better.

It’s amazing we’re second, look at who is on Leicester, Leeds and Southamptons books and compare to our squad? We’re doing amazingly well and if we finished 3rd or 4th we’d have still done well. We’re a work in progress after 20 years of decline, Rome wasn’t built in a day and it took the likes of Brighton, Brentford and Bournemouth a few years to get promoted when they were chasing, it won’t be any different for Ipswich.

I agree. But, again, that is not what I have written. The context is clear - that our form would dip significantly over the Xmas period.

It's a very limited time frame where our opponents have been strong (except QPR) and our squad depth has been found out.

To keep contexualising tonight's result/our league position in the framework of this season or past seasons - again and again in this thread - is weird.

Has Leeds' squad depth also been found out? We've extended our gap to them this month.

It's irrelevant if Southampton keep closing the gap,

It's not an irrelevant question in the context that you said or squad depth has been found out yet we extended our gap on Leeds.

What it is, is an awkward question which you're trying not to answer as it undermines your attempted whinge.
