He’ll be worth double that after one more season with McKenna, the two of them together with Omari’s attitude and Kieran’s coaching have made Chelsea very happy I’m thinking.

Remember that would be £25m likely over 5 years so ‘only’ a £5m FFP hit per year.

He’s very very special watching him develop over the season to his last few weeks of other worldliness was a real treat .. all tied up with a great attitude on the pitch , not lazy and not a diver too and not letting his head drop. He’s for me as dangerous and game changing as Doku is showing now.

Chelsea might not be so keen on the loan option if stories of their FFP issues are to be believed. Ideally they’d want to bank the money in the current financial year whereas a loan to buy might not get them the money til 25/26 season.

15 million with addons will be roughly what we will sign him for and we will sign him.
Chelsea have to sell a whole lot of youth players to fall in line with financing rules.

We have to be careful, just in case of the unthinkable and we go back down. Don't want to be burdened with a load of players on biggish wages. Parachute payments would help, but we need to be careful. The loan option just protects us a little.

Only allowed 2 loans although think you can have more than that if they come from Europe so we may start shopping abroad.
