It's only been a day but the home shirt has already grown on me 08:32 - Jul 7 with 3326 views | The_Flashing_Smile | I'd describe it as "smart", where my initial thought was "meh". Even the 'badge-popping-out-of-the-shirt' thing I don't mind as much as I did at first, and the navy trim around the collar and sleeves is nice.

Still not a fan of the crest around the badge, and don’t like the flash of red in the umbro logo. It’s grown on me though, especially having seen the players in it.

Think the Wolfenden vid shoot and some of the early photos didn’t do it justic on 08:59 - Jul 7 with 3193 views | unstableblue | Especially as they lacked the Premier Logo and just weren’t well shot Other photos that have emerged, such as Omari, and even Sheeran actually make it look far far better

Yep. It’s better in person, can get used to the shield around the badge but that red bit in the Umbro logo will always look weird.

I’ll go against the flow here and say I’m not so keen on the away kit - but again I need to see it ‘for real’. All in all, they’re fine. I always dread what they’re going to come up with. We’ve had some shockers over the years, not least that 95/97 fade affair, the relegation kit (18/19) with the blue shorts and Magical Vegas and that dreadful one with the white sash effect going through it (05/07). Of the away ones, the standout shocker is the 95/96 green and brown thing. All personal taste, of course.

There’s barely been a great home kit since the Fisons days really, when you look back at them all together the last 3 have been some of the relative stand outs of the past 30 years

Top work - good on you. How’s the sizing? Even the ‘amateur’ shots taken by Planet Blue make the home kit look better It does look like the blue neck and collar are much darker than in the professional shots… is that the case? Maybe a missed opportunity for the crest behind the badge to not be that colour.

In the first of those links it mentions 'As worn by Brian Talbot" accompanied by a photo of him playing for Arsenal!

I think it will grow on people, clearly hasnt dampened any enthusiasm to buy if people are still queuing at Planet Blue for it.

The away shirt for me should always be orange. I love the links to our Dutch past and would have orange as our second choice and white as our third. Just my preference, that's all.

well spotted..yes the neck and collar are darker..and as for sizing…I’d recommend actually trying them on before purchasing…..the home shirt fitted perfectly but the first away one I tried on ‘drowned’ me…tried another one and it fitted well..I reckon the first one I tried on was two sizes to big despite the label saying otherwise…oh yeah…and I may be in the minority but I don’t mind the red infill in the umbro logo… [Post edited 7 Jul 2024 21:15]

I don't mind the shield. It's obviously a nod to this, yet nowhere near as intrusive.

Could be worse - could be the Adidas logo which is absolutely massive on shirts they make now - or Nike's swoosh which is going to be vertical on some of their kits!
