If Morsy kicks the ball out... 17:18 - Nov 2 with 7439 viewsgtsb1966

we win that game. You can can blame the officials and VAR all you like, understandably in the heat of the moment, but we are the architects of our own downfall.

Yes we can blame them all you want, as it's f**king disgraceful. And Morsy wouldn't have been put in that desperate position. Any fans looking to put it on the players after that need to take a hard look at themselves, if they even are fans

I did think that was particularly poor from Morsy and he usually makes the right call in those situations- I suppose he was pretty shot at that point in the game. Burns should have taken out the Leicester player too.

I felt the same. Just boot the ball out deep into their half and they have to defend their own throw in.

Huh ? Completely different phase of the game. That has been and gone. As the OP says, horrible game management from Morsy and then Burns. Smash the ball in to the stands if you have to.

Their keeper was 40 yards off his line when he got the ball. Even if he went for goal and it went 10 yards wide, it would’ve wasted another 30 seconds at least.

Calm down. Look at the facts. Against Villa Greaves makes a bad error that leads to a goal. . Against Brentford Muric drops a clanger and today Morsy should've booted it. Those errors alone have potentially cost us 5 points. You can't hide away from that. For all our good play individual errors are killing us.

I think this is the issue we have.

It's fine playing well, but if you're making bad errors and gifting teams goals (Burns v Everton) then you're on an uphill struggle.

The positive is we do seem to be playing well, but playing well and it still not being good is going to test everyone mentally.

Well done, of course it's a different phase of play, that you clearly think had no beating on the fact that we were camped in our own box for 25 minutes with Morsy having to break down the pitch on his own.

Yep, he should have been stronger and then Burns should have stayed with his man ( he has the pace) instead of diving in.

Cheers for the Well done.

There a few options Morsy could’ve made there regardless of how many men are in the box or whatever you are on about. The decision to throw himself to the ground under no contact was crazy one that hurt us.

Hoof it at goal. Jeez even kick it for a throw in deep down by the corner.

I think that there was some contact and the refs normally give a free kick for it.

The ref was giving free kicks for that all game. Anyone digging out Morsy seems to have forgotten that, and is being wise after the event.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Nobody's digging out anyone. Players make mistakes, it happens. Morsy made a mistake today which lead to their goal. He should've booted it. The old saying still exists... if in doubt boot it out.

People are allowed to make very valid critiques of things that happened in the game without digging people out.

The ref was a disgrace.. make no mistake about it. But it’s also perfect reasonable to say the way we managed that phase of play, Morsy and Burns was not good enough at all.

Morsy looked like he was trying to buy a free-kick, but the ref wasn’t having it.

Should have just kept going or booted the ball towards the corner flag.

Nobody is digging him out, but I can remember the 'relief' when Morsy had the ball on a break and perhaps then w e could have had an attack or, at least, we'd play the territory card of just booting the ball out of touch deep into their half. And then they'd have to start again. Guess what.... 10 seconds later and they've equalised. From when possession changed on the half-way line. Sorry, that's too easy and not professional. And I do understand we never got any breaks from the ref, but before the game I'd bite the hand off to be 1 up with 5 minutes to go and a man down.
