Delap 18:43 - Nov 11 with 4813 viewsBangor31

I think i heard on talksport that Delap has scored the most goals after 10 starts in the premier league.

he has 6, i think Rooney had 5, Kane might have been 5 to,. Shearer was 3 i think. Just got me thinking, you think he tops that list whilst playing for a club just above relegation, those players were all starting with very good squads around them.

Very impressive if i did hear it correctly

It’s possible if he keeps this up, Evan Ferguson was linked £50m to Man Utd with 6 goals in 27. Delap 6 in 11 at same/similar age and in less creative team

The only Muff in Town.

I've been pretty impressed by Szmodics too and I wonder why he hasn't been grabbing more of the limelight?

Certainly, if we had to sell, which I really hope we don't, we would see a very handsome return on the sums paid for Szmodics, Delap and Hutchinson to name but three.

I spotted an impressive list including those boys and it only contained top English strikers, so I wasn't sure if it was a cherry-picked list or if he has had the fastest start of any Englishman. Haaland got off to a flyer from memory and may have reached double figures in his first ten.

...they can insert a fee that they can buy him back for as part of the sale. They usually have a time limit involved when they have to be activated.

They are fairly common for young players being moved on by big clubs.

They then buy them back and move them on for a big profit.

They are different from a matching clause, which is what Villa had in place for Philogene.

The buy back clause is only valid for city though. So they’d have to be the ones after him rather than a generic release clause that any club could trigger.

I’m not worried about losing him for at least a year

I would imagine City would only sign him back to then sell him straight on, so you’d have to hope any interested party wouldn’t be of interest to Delap.

I'm pretty sure the rules don't allow a club to sell on someone they've just bought in the same window.

....but equally it's not gonna be anywhere near the figures being flung around.

Otherwise it's pointless them having it in there.

20% buy back or sell on clause.. assuming 20% city don’t pay if they buy back? 20% we pay them if we sell to another club?

City might well have a but-back clause but I do think that Ashton would have inserted another clause stating that if a club offers so much that but-back clause becomes redundant.

Some good news in that it’s City perhaps - they’re surely facing a transfer ban if they get punished this winter.

I think City get first dibs on whatever we value him at when we sell him.

For example we can’t go selling him to united for 60 million if city are prepared to pay that.
