Is it better to leave the slot vacant than to temporarily bring in a 31 year old, who was playing for Forest Green 2 seasons ago, & was let go by a League 1 club last May, & who hasn't played for any league club since?
I guess we'd only be looking for him to play 20 minutes per game, in the event of injury or suspension to Delap or Hirst, and he has height, strength, cleverness & PL experience.
It sounds ridiculous, but in an emergency, with nobody else available & the slot going to waste otherwise, should we at least be bringing in some out of contract player for a 2 week trial, to assess/improve fitness, in the event that we need to offer a short term deal to the end of the season? | |
