Is is grammatically correct. Even if we do tend to talk of the club as a plural.
Ipswich Town is a club in the EFL Championship. The club is delighted to make announcements. As a management group, they are delighted with the new signing but the club as a whole is delighted. | |

Over past seasons their x announces etc were quite unique. Bit of fun and I'd say interesting.
This summer it's been pretty naff tbh.
More importantly tho. Brilliant signing.
Ex man utd. Cup and league winner, inter Milan. Aston villa and Everton fullback with over 400 appearences in the prem inc 30 odd appearances last season.

I agree that's how we talk but technically the club is owned by an American pension fund and is an English club.
I hate to break it to you, but you are not actually part of the club. As fans we feel we are but the best you could hope for is that they are owned by Americans and they are an English club.
