One of the major reasons people cite for not having children is financial. This policy addresses that.
They will need to couple it with more support for IVF, children’s services, maternity and paternity leave etc. But as one component of a comprehensive pro-child manifesto, I am in favour. | | | |

Financially incentivising having children is a mentally stupid policy - it means having children for completely the wrong reason.
And the policy isn't to give a rebate to people who DO have kids, it is to increase tax for people who DON'T. |  |
