But I wouldn't object if the BBC spent a few quid from the licence fee on a studio in America.

It’s a World Cup, they should 100% be out there.

I’ve always been BBC over ITV but ITV have been better this time round and them being out there is one of the reasons.

The fake wind in the BBC studio is funny.

I've read that they will be broadcasting from the Americas once the group stage is over.

What for? What insight does being in a fancy studio in america make?

The BBC is fighting for its life. We are in real danger of losing it to the Farages and Badenochs of this world. They are cutting good programmes and staff.

Yeh ITV's coverage, notwithstanding adverts and their stupid exploitative competition, is better this World Cup. All their pundits seem to be capable of planning the end of a sentence before embarking on one. Giroud played in England for nine years, yet seems to have picked up around four words of English. Dull as dishwater. He expects his pretty face on screen is enough.

Most of all, ITV's presenters are night and day better than BBC's. Kelly Cates can barely read the autocue. She has zero repartee/wit. Stutters and hesitates when all she has to do is read words from a screen. She is the definition of a nepo-baby (Dalglish). Laura Woods, on the other hand, can command attention, and hold her own in verbal jousting. I miss Lineker (down-vote away!).

I think Lineker is a pundit for ITV tonight.

Nobody watches it for the insight. Nobody cares what any of the pundits have to say. It’s about vibes, and it would be much better if they were there. But they can’t win regardless, they’d have people moaning about wasting their licence fee if they went. People that probably don’t pay it anyway.

They would absolutely moan anyway.

And with the stuff thats being cut, it would look pretty awful.

Consumer programmes like Moneybox live- so Kelly Cates can go to LA?

May as well commentate in front of a TV screen then rather than being in the stadium? I really don't think football is for you.

And well done for getting the obligatory TWTD Farge mention.

Unfortunately, this is the effect people like Farage have.

Previously the discussion would've been "should we be out there?" and possibly a fair amount of "would we like to be out there?"

Now it's "what kind of media sh*tstorm are we going to face if someone finds out how much it costs us to be out there and do we want that on our heads?"

Unfortunately, they lose either way.

I never agree with Andrew Neil, but after the England game some Tory said it was outrageous that the BBC hadn't got the same set up as ITV. He said what's the difference being in New York or London if you're talking about a game in Dallas.

But is Pointless now ……..well pointless , as it’s regurgitated over and over again , you now know every contestant, every question and every winner , the BBC is fuc£Ed , it is teetering on the edge as budgets and staff are cut .
In other words it’s the last thing I want to see spending an absolute fortune sending a bunch of wasters to the USA .
