Perhaps leave out Fatawu and make Enciso and Maeda the 10’s in front of the three in midfield ?

Might be a gamble at this point as we have been pretty consistent formation-wise. Probably becomes more of an option when Luis is fit and ready – can imagine the plan was very much to deploy him in games like these and if he was available yesterday there's a chance we would have been able to break that second half up a lot more.

Yep.Play with 2 narrow tens, Maeda and Enciso. They have the energy to drop wide when necessary.

Me too Glassers. Got sick and tired of seeing our two overrun in the middle of the park and no response made in 24/25. It was the one flaw in KMc's management for me
Not sure GON will start with 3 at home to Liverpool but I seriously hope he reacts to circumstances and opposition more readily as the season develops.

Id doesn't have to be every game or even for the whole match. We can bring on another CM as a sub to preserve a win or a point for the last 30 minutes when our more attacking play has got us into that position.

The problem with that though is that it won’t be 3 at the back, it will be 5 and they will still be massively overworked if the midfield continues to get overrun

In hindsight I wish he had tweaked it yesterday when Emmerson went off, as there was signs of being over-run at the end of the first half.

Possibly Palacios for Nunez too.

This would result in a change to playing balls over the CBs rather than down the wing to stretch them with Enciso's pace. The only issue is it - again - exposes our lack of cover down the right side.

Please do *not* leave out Fats unless injured - he's our new Burns+!

His determination, drive, strength & feed-in absolutely key for us. Really impresses me and fast becoming a fav player.

Seems a likeable character too, playing with a smile on his face.
