I'd be surprised of Rotherham don't match the bid. I'd also be surprised if it's really as little as £250k up front.

If that's true then what is the point of selling him?

If we take as little as that, there will be a board meltdown. But not as bad as the one if Moore & Marriott form an amazing partnership.
Of course, the selling club will want to big up the "undisclosed" fee as much as possible & Bazza will want to make it look like he's nicked a bargain.

...the Rotherham boss said the other day.

He was clear that their bid was over £500k.

May be a difference in payment installments.

I'd imagine it'd be double that fee as Rotherham mentioned a club record bid which would be around the 500k mark

I don't think it is. Rotherham boss stated their bid was a club record, which is currently 500k, so I would assume Peterborough's bid has to be higher than that.

Presumably Fry has steered the journo towards that figure too. A bit odd.

“We have had a bid for Kieffer Moore accepted by Ipswich,” Fry stated. “But there are a lot of add ons attached which our chairman might not fancy.

I would treat anything that comes out of Barry Fry's mouth with considerable caution.

Ha, true!

Seems pretty apparent that Fry is "bigging it up" for the local press. I interpret it as they have to pay 250k upfront; further stage payments of fixed amounts , and then performance related "add-ons". It is quite probable that Rotherham are unable to pay the full purchase price upfront. It seems that the majority of transfer fees are structured in this way.

Fry plays the game both buying and selling. I've met him a few times he's just like he is on the TV. I said yesterday I had a feeling Posh would come in. I've often wished we had Baz at Portman Rd he's a great negotiator in my opinion.

Although I do wish he was in our camp when it comes to sniffing out players and negotiating..

DM really is a fantastic owner for Posh, 5k gates, lingering in League One, but once again willing to put his hand in his pocket for the right player, Marriott and Moore could work really well..

They just have a fantastic knack of picking out a player and then selling them for an extortionate price.

They'll probably keep Marriott now too, if they cash in during the summer how much do you think they'd want for him? £5m? They do their absolute best for that football Club..
