White Hart Lane 15:36 - Jan 25 with 6367 viewshype313

Have to say, the new stadium is going to look fantastic, but judging by this pic, they might need to speak to Wembley to see if they can extend their stay..

8 months is a long time.

Looks like most of the hard work has been done.

Obviously I bow to Matt Scotts project management and construction expertise.

Will it look fantastic? Similar to Emirates or Etihad really.

To be fair to Spurs, they've thought a lot about closeness to the pitch and acoustics.

A capacity of 61,559 with a 17,500 single tier home southern stand - generating a ‘wall of sound’, with the seating bowl arranged to place fans closer to the pitch than at any other comparable size stadium in the UK.

I guess it'd be in keeping with Spurs if it costs a lot, looks classy but ultimately isn't quite ready at the end.

They could always request a few away matches to start the season.

Think they have applied for the first 7to be away which is the maximum.

Although they have an NFL game on October

Agree on Spurs. I may try and take in a few games this season and next. Trying and watch some football, before subjecting myself to Ipswich.

Did you know their ‘kop’ behind the goal with 17,500 in a single tier. That will be amazing at generating atmosphere.

I walked past it a few weeks ago and it’s absolutely huge. The old WHL was set back from Tottenham High Road, but this is much closer, so looms over the High Road. It is going to continue to be an absolute bitch to get to though.

It's in a fairly poor area and poor people don't deserve natural light.

In fairness to the disgusting club, doesn't a lot of regeneration money hinge on that development?

The only houses potentially affected by light issues are south of the stadium, so they lose a wee bit of sky to the north. Sunlight is unaffected.

Stadium is on time for a September opening. The NFL wouldn't have announced otherwise.

I prefer old school grounds, not a big fan of new stadiums. Burnley is my favorite, however, I will make an exception to the new spurs ground. It will be really good i think. Possible the best in the country.

Tehy might have been exaggerating, but then you'd assume the end date for the project should have been end of July and if it slides back to end of September that is a huge delay but wouldn't affect the NFL game

It would be a fairly dead area without it too. If the club moved, many of the local businesses would die - so it's about retaining that business and bringing more in, which it will inevitably do.

As someone else says, it will result in a huge regeneration of the area.
