Anybody else so sick of the club 06:47 - Feb 3 with 6093 viewsColchesterBlue1985

That actually blames pretty much everybody, the owner as he is exactly that and anyone that owns a business that is failing has to take huge responsibility.

The managers both Hurst and Lambert:- the former for bringing in mediocre players and failing to get a tune out off them, the latter for failing to improve us a single jot despite being in comfortable winning positions Time and time again.

The captain and well paid senior professionals:- all I keep hearing is Skuse and Chambers have kept this club together. That would be believable if we weren’t about to be relegated with the lowest points total ever in this league. The owner said is in his recent interview we are 13th or thereabouts in the wage budget for our division so by my reckoning we have a load of overpaid (yes all footballers are overpaid) players from the top earner in Bart right down to the likes of Nydam on 3/4K a week. So it wouldn’t bother me one bit if we had a massive cull in the summer, these players got us relegated so are clearly not up to bringing us back to this division. We already know there is nothing between the bottom of our league and the top of league 1 as Sunderland are showing us. Get rid clear the decks and start the very long journey to coming back.

There litterally was nothing more the fans could do by wkj 2 Feb 2019 17:34
Decent noise today, fans did the team proud for the most part. There quite literally is nothing more we can give as fans, we rallied after Mick and Hurst, and once more, the club is unable to deliver. Please don't try any more feel goods in the press room, the only feel goods we want and need are the ones that the team, staff and owner cant provide.

I pretty much said similar yesterday *pats your shoulder* hard times

Agree 100% with that. Chambers, Skuse, Bart, Knudsen, Sears, ward, Adeyemi, Huws, the lot can be wiped out as far as I am concerned. Start building a team from within the club and get Hogg and nash to do it.

Very well put and I totally agree.
You simply at this moment in time can't make a valid case to keep any of them.
At least next season our younger players will get more game time and the dross Hurst signed will be back at a level their more accustomed to.
As for the senior players at the club they all need to go....they clearly didn't buy into Hurst and they haven't with Lambert...they became to comfortable with being just mediocre under Mick and when asked to step up under two different managers they simply cannot cut it.
This club has been on a steady decline for a number of years...blame ex mangers the owner...whoever....fact of the matter is we are were we are.....as a football club and as supporters we have become far to used to not winning.
Hopefully in a lower division we can get used to actually going into games thinking and wanting to win....something we haven't had in a number of years.
But this summer will be interesting.. as to more importantly in my opinion who goes as opposed to who stays.

This is way over simplified. The real trouble is that we have done neither thing well. We have not played our own youngsters and we have not bought well. Players of experience are important. Sears, Skuse and Chambers have all been fine. What we put around and alongside them hasn’t. We still don’t have a good right back despite now have tried Pennington, Donacien, Spence, Bree there. Yet our own specialist right back has not ever had a look in.
We have no left footed centre back. We’ve chopped about with goalies. We have still no firepower. None of that is the fault of Sears, Skuse,Chambers. Your criticism is aimed at the wrong people.

We have two left footed players that can play in the centre of defence. One is out on loan and the other, more suited to play on the left of a back three, is out of favour.

Agree with you that too many players are happy to take their wages but don't play with any passion . Did senior pros Skuse and Sears play like they were desperate to win , did they show any signs of encouraging others .

Spot on ….".comfortable with just being mediocre " , where is the sort of passion Alan Hunter and the like used to play with

Skuse and Chambers are not good enough, experience or not. Should have been replaced at least a year ago.

I think that's the real disappointment for me, we haven't got the hunger for the fight. I can't imagine Rotherham or Millwall playing at their respective home grounds and simply rolling over like we do for the opposition and looking so ineffective. Lets be honest, most games the opposition keeper doesn't really have much to do because we lack any conviction in our play. We pass it around in the 'safe' areas and haven't the bravery to do it with conviction in that final third. At least, have a go at sides especially at home and go down fighting, at the moment we're going down with a whimper!!

We're a Championship club in status, but time and again this season we have looked significantly below that standard and deserve to be relegated IMO. Yesterday, was a very good case in point.

Agree ,on much of this Skuse is v limited, Chambers is a great captain and has the club in his blood but sadly isn't good enough any longer.

I also think we are crying out for a formation change , this one blatantly does not work for us... It's not just the results, we just don't create enough chances and when we do we don't have a potent enough striker to take them .

The scum up the road weren't happy when they last played us and wanted a change of manager, from what I can see they brought in 2 young full backs from their U23s and a midfielder and shot up the league.

Surely a couple of our own kids can be given a chance..even if it's just as a sub coming on?

Personally, think the loans were brought with the right intention to have a go at staying up, but honestly many of them are no better than what we have. We desperately needed a huge step up in quality to have any impact with all those loans PL has acquired. 'Quality' players are going to cost serious money and we know how that's going to end! How many of those were PL's first choices?

PL seems yet another stubborn manager not willing to compromise, our current system is failing abysmally and yet week after week we keep doing the same thing. Albert Einstein's famous line: "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

Over paid? Aren't we the fifth or sixth lowest payer in the league and have been for a few years now. It's the reason we cannot attract the talent needed to play at this level, along with the restrictions on transfers that the owner has placed.

It's time to make the best of it.

I know it's easy to say having seen what has happened since the new players came in but the biggest problem seems to be how to fit these players in. We have Sears, Quaner, Judge and Harrison all who want to play either number 9 or 10. That means if your trying to fit 3 of them in then one has to play out of position. The team I'd go for against the Budgies is Bart,Knudsen,Collins,Pennington and Bree.Cholobah, Skuse and Bishop.Sears, Keane and Harrison.

Tbh I started losing interest when Roy Keane was appointed.
Ever since, it's been a death by a thousand cuts.
The fight, pride and togetherness has withered away. It's just a badly run business now.
Perhaps next season with new players and at a level that the owner has made us, we might be able to build again.
Safe to say, I too am sick of the club. Trouble is, Ipswich is my team. I have to accept at least I was priveledged enough to go and see us at Wembley and to see us at our zenith.

I thought I explained that part, as we’ve seen first hand with Sunderland not having it their own way in league 1 and Accrington in the cup there is v little between the bottom of our league and top of league one. If these players not only can’t keep us up but not even put up a fight in which will be the lowest point total needed to survive in championship history then it tells you how weak the 3 teams who get relegated are with us leading by example. Sunderland were called a laughing stock and a basket case yet they put up more of a fight and took it further than we will.

Who do you mean by “the club”?

It’s 87.5% Evans and 12.5% the supporters trust.

Please direct me to where Evans blames others.

What about the fans? Hounding out MM. Some of the abuse MM got and his team was shameful.

He came 12th last season.

We are 13th in the league by Evans own admission when it comes to wages so being 11 places below that would highlight underachievement or overpaid. I went with overpaid as they’ve been a shambles under both managers not just one.

I haven’t said Evans had blamed anyone.

The ending with Mick was far from ideal I’ll give you that but something that went passed it’s natural conclusion and the way his departure was handled was nothing short of amateurish. Like he pointed out he was the caretaker of his own job, madness.

The football Hurst and Lambert to a degree has been no better than Micks either, however neither have gone looking for arguments with the press and the fans and become volatile. The abuse Mick got was two way and he seemed to enjoy/relish those moments as much as the fans knocking him.

The players wanted Hurst out - rightly or wrongly, but they wanted rid and they got their wish and they got their new manager.

And how they have upped their game!

Should be mandatory viewing for the team before each game - The playoff semi against Bolton at PR.

Whilst I agree to an extent the fans never turned on Hurst or Lambert, yet,to the degree they turned on Mick. Saying that Mick could have diffused some of the tension with some well chosen words, or by simply saying the fans have a right to view their feelings and leaving it there, but elected not to do so.

Sunderland are 4th with 2 or 3 games in hand, so could still go up. Also no-one suggested they are "having it their own way in league 1" or indeed that you need to to be promoted.

"v little between the bottom of our league and top of league one" - how is this evidence that these players clearly won't get us back up? If anything it's evidence that they may well do (if you're saying we're as good as the top of League 1).

Again, even if we do get the lowest points - that's in the Championship against Championship teams. Against League 1 teams it will be a lot easier.

Your last sentence again isn't based on anything but your opinion.

I bet Bloots will downarrow this.
