Ah now, that's not fair. Zed's been here this week to tell us that we've a;ways been at war with Eastasia.

May is telling the commons they can extend A50.. on 13:06 - Feb 26 with 3749 views | ZedRodgers | By leaving a few days to debate £39b of motions, amendments and battles with the Lords, this her own doing. She would have been better off admitting that there was no longer enough time at the point of further delaying the vote. She should have presented a deal in the first place before Christmas that wouldn't have been rejected, delayed, delayed, rejected again and delayed again. Talking to members across the house at the point it had already failed was another huge mistake.

May is telling the commons they can extend A50.. on 16:31 - Feb 26 with 3545 views | flimflam | Thing is it cannot be extended past July as EU elections so she is setting up a trap to eventually accept her deal or fall over the cliff into no deal. Vote on her deal next week and if rejected they come back and vote on no deal and extension. It is just delaying the inevitable and changes nothing just kicks the can down the road for 2 months.

The added bonus would be that we will not have to hear forever more from Jacob and chums about what might have been if we had listened to them......which we will!

This is such a lazy and predictable point. Calling it a policy change is wrong, as Baz explains here in his usual concise and eloquent fashion.
If you want to argue that the tinge group sped up the process then by all means go ahead. I would argue that they should have had more faith in the order of play decided at conference. You can’t say it was never going to happen because Labour had already put forward an amendment which included a public vote before they split. You shouldn’t inadvertently mislead the forum by suggesting it’s a policy change.

It means that the people we have voted in to govern are not capable of doing so and as far as I'm concerned it won't matter if we're in the EU, out of the EU, halfway in or out, we're completely up the creek and everyone else in the world (yes, even the Americans) will be laughing their heads off at us even more than they are now. Probably the one thing that most people who voted in the referendum didn't consider (whichever way they voted) was that our Government and Parliament were not actually capable of delivering should there be a Leave majority.

Do you honestly believe parliament capable on agreeing what a second referendum would be about.? Don't believe they would be able to agree on what the choices would be.

It could be argued that if none of the three options pass, then for the first two votes to be binding, the third vote vote (extension of article 50) also failing would effectively mean article 50 would have to be revoked. If article 50 can’t be extended and a binding rejection of both no deal at the end of March and a binding rejection of the only deal possible before the end of March, the Prime Minister May have just put remain on the table herself. Funny old game eh.
