Pretty expensive day for Evans 14:09 - Jun 9 with 4192 viewstractorboy1978

That'll be the best part of £1m in season ticket refunds + TV money, sponsorship refunds etc on top of that. Will Lambert go? Probably not by virtue of associated costs assuming any clause wouldn't hold up legally in these circumstances.

Odds on trying to offer ST holders some kind of credit rather than issuing refunds?

You'd need an awful lot of ITFC car decals and keyrings to make up for it.

Kicking off? Can't see it. A few on here might grumble and that'll be about it. They might offer something but it won't be a cash refund.

Surely most people would be pretty happy with a credit against next year's ticket? Why wouldn't you be?

I was thinking earlier, putting the football club to one side for a minute, how big a hit Evans regular conferencing empire has taken under the pandemic lock-down.

Indeed- with potential impact on club funding and cashflow one imagines.

Fine if we see next season and people have renewed. I was thinking more credit on iFollow passes or in the club shop.

The season is considered to be complete, once the clubs vote on it. Legally binding decision.

Nothing would stop Evans firing him based on a non-promotion clause if as we are led to believe it exists.

And we won't be getting a refund. It will be credit on a ST or vouchers for club shop

Fans with deep enough pockets could try, but to do so for £100?

Class action I assume would be the route to go, but again unlikely

On what grounds?

Fans pay a season ticket in advance under the promise of watching ‘X’ amount of games, them games haven’t been fulfilled, they have no leg to stand on on the matter.

Is anyone going to bother for the sake of £40 though? I can't see it. The club will offer some sort of credit and that will be about it.

I don't honestly think many if any fans would but legal cases between fans and supporters isn't a good look or anything other than bad PR. They have to offer refunds, if people decide not to take them or to accept a credit on account or something, fair enough.

On the grounds that these are unforeseen circumstances and they can't afford the cash outlay. I expect some sort of credit will be offered or similar. As someone who had a ST last season I'm not expecting anything and I'm not at all bothered about it.

Indeed. The contract involves an expectation of a particular number of games. Though there is presumably a clause dealing with stuff like clubs like Bury and the impact that has.

Class action isn't a thing in the UK per se. You can litigate as a group but for £50 it's beyond trivial. Any legal costs would far exceed the loss brought forward.

I cancelled in late March when I knew it would never get played. As a point of principle I won't pay for something I'm not enjoying the service or goods of.

It's a bit worse than that.

Who in their right mind will be thinking of 'investing' in a season ticket for next season?

Add in the fact that most of his dodgy businesses are not exactly thriving in the current market conditions and the future appears none too rosy for the offshore investment.

Not saying I would take it but a refund should certainly be an option for supporters. Equilivant amount deducted off next seasons ST another.
