Being linked with Lincoln and Hull, surely one we would be in for as know we were very close in January and he is a long term target

Would be a real coup to get him in, a big fan of his

Big big fan of his at this level, surprised Forest would be allowing him to leave this year as Id thought he'd have a role there this time around.

If there is possible deal to be done there, we have to be in for him.

What kind of fee would they be asking for? - I'd love to see him here, but I'm skeptical that we're going to pay a fee for anyone.

I believe he only has a year left on his contract, so could be available for a smaller fee, if not a season long loan.

Would be an absolute class addition, he’s looked dangerous every time I’ve seen him.

Also about 10 years too young from the market we seem to be shopping in currently.

Last year of contract and will be a permanent deal if he goes - guess less than a million quid as well

Exactly the type of signing we should be making. I'm sure he will do well at Peterborough :(

He's proven at this level. Has pace and a presence to him. Can finish. Is young enough to improve. Would come for a relatively modest fee. Would see us as a step up on Mansfield and Lincoln.

Would not be surprised if he goes on to be a Championship striker over the next 7-10 years.

All reasons why our clueless set up won't be in for him.

Would be the perfect addition. We must be sniffing about having been very interested in Jan.

Although we are in a bonkers position where Lincoln probably have more scope to add him to their wage bill than us now! Signing him would probably need a 'creative' solution to get around it.

could be the first type of deal where we see how the market is working following the salary cap introduction.

If it comes straight down to cap space posh win it.

On the other hand. If Coventry win the race you would have to think that's one less club interested in Jackson

Yep, going to be such a difficult deal to do - but one we desperately need to try for

With how restricted we are with wages, we are going to need to adapt our modus operandi and get creative.

I'd do everything possible for this deal. Every time he's played against us he's been absolutely class. That performance in the 5-3 defeat was probably the best performance I've seen from a striker against us this season.

By "get creative" do you mean re-sign Will Keane on reduced wages once the season is underway?

I knew how daft it was as I was typing it. You watch other clubs find ways around this that we can't.

Lincoln has the same cap space as us currently I believe bud. If it's down to cap then posh just edge it. However, all figures I have are approx so no one really knows

I guess we don't know what players are on at Lincoln/Peterborough. Ours is pretty simple as all bar Drinan/Wright will be on above the average so counted at £113k.

Would imagine Lincoln have a fair few (if not all?) under £2.2k a week.

I'm not expecting us to pay any fees either given the additional costs ME is going to have to cover due to the lack of income. However, it isn't impossible that he could be sold a deal where a player is viewed as having the potential to be worth more in years to come, such as with Adam Webster. Obviously there's also the salary cap issue and the need to bring in a number of players with little wriggle room.
