Tyler Walker 10:32 - Aug 12 with 8152 views | itfcjoe | Being linked with Lincoln and Hull, surely one we would be in for as know we were very close in January and he is a long term target Would be a real coup to get him in, a big fan of his

Tyler Walker on 11:09 - Aug 12 by tractorboy1978 | I guess we don't know what players are on at Lincoln/Peterborough. Ours is pretty simple as all bar Drinan/Wright will be on above the average so counted at £113k. Would imagine Lincoln have a fair few (if not all?) under £2.2k a week. |
One of the many issues for us joe public when trying to work out cap space per club. Currently, all we have is the 113k for players over 21

Tyler Walker on 10:34 - Aug 12 by TheTrueBlue1878 | Big big fan of his at this level, surprised Forest would be allowing him to leave this year as Id thought he'd have a role there this time around. If there is possible deal to be done there, we have to be in for him. |
Just one problem there.

Amen, thought he would be out on loan again, in which I think we would be in. 1 year left, Forest looking for fee we've got no chance.

Tyler Walker on 11:13 - Aug 12 by PhilTWTD | I'm not expecting us to pay any fees either given the additional costs ME is going to have to cover due to the lack of income. However, it isn't impossible that he could be sold a deal where a player is viewed as having the potential to be worth more in years to come, such as with Adam Webster. Obviously there's also the salary cap issue and the need to bring in a number of players with little wriggle room. |
A bit like KVY last year.

I also can't imagine Forest or any parent club would want to delay payment where possible, so getting too creative might be down to the fine print of his contract alone. I thought he was a worthy target before we were interested last time, but was there some sort of ill feeling when he scored at our place? Seem to remember a really petulant gesture at the North stand? Lincoln have signed Eyoma back from Spurs and another defender too today haven't they? One thing the vote on the cap seems to have done is get teams a little more focused. A glut of unveilings this weekend.

I'd forgotten about that, but yeah he gave it full beans at the North Stand. It was odd as nothing really came beforehand that could explain him giving it large and he dragged it out after getting pelters and a heartfelt round of "who are ya!". All good fun though, can't imagine either party bears a grudge.

I think a hefty loan fee would work. If a club has a situation where they no longer require a player then in theory you may be able to negotiate a deal where a loan fee is paid so the parent club keeps paying his wages particularly where the player only has 1 year left. This cap will be down to who is brave and creative

A lot of clubs don't have that much of a squad having released quite a few at the end of the season due to lack of funds, so not sure too much should be read into the number of signings elsewhere in the division. Don't recall any ill feeling re the NS and I'm not sure those sorts of thing really matter anyway.

Last season we paid a decent fee for KVY and gave decent contracts out to the likes of Norwood, Judge (shudder) and Holy. Not many sides were shelling out more than us in fees and wages last summer, especially when our only significant outgoing was Bart on loan. Whilst we couldn't compete financially in the Championship, we certainly can in League 1.

We now have an actual wage bill and a salary cap wage bill for this season though. In salary cap terms, we could (not that I am advocating selling Jackson): Sell Jackson and trim £113k from the salary cap wage bill for this season Pay a loan fee made up of a transfer fee and Walker's wages (Forest pay his wages still) with Walker signing for us on a free on 1 July - £0 on our salary cap wage bill for this season [Post edited 12 Aug 2020 14:33]

Our owner has taken another financial hit to his business outside of football, another year in the L1 again impacts the finances, no gate receipts for the foreseeable future, a long term contract for Luke Woolfenden handed out. I can't see us shelling out figure for anyone unless there is a departure. If no departure we might get Stephen Ward, and then probably Will Keane will reappear out of the shadows.

A really good idea, a loop hole Stu Watson explained. But it still involves shelling out a transfer fee, even if disguised as a 'loan fee', and I can't see that happening.
