Didn't we have a problem with the thick white nets from the opening game of the first Premier League season in 92/93. Seem to remember reading complaints sent to the club and they were swiftly changed to blue ones for the next home game (Liverpool 2-2).
Also remember there was some of issue with new nets for the box shape goals for League Cup match around 1996 (Marshall quality goal)?
