I wish Ipswich had something akin to WBA or Chelsea’s pre match choon... on 09:10 - Feb 28 by hoppy
This. Even if it’s not Cook. Have thought this for many years.
Me too. Not sure I've ever heard the club play it but I've no idea why. Brilliant song and perfect for us. People say it was written by a scouser but for me it's about the meaning in a song not where the writer came from. "I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles" is an American song, for example.
Here in my pocket I got the Story of the Blues Try to believe me 'Cos it could be front page news
I say I live with it like it hasn't happened yet I keep thinking of everyone How I'm the one, the one they're trying to get To tell the Story of the Blues
First, they take your pride Turn it all inside And then you realise You've got nothing left to lose
So, you try to stop Try to get back up And then, you realise You're telling the Story of the Blues
Feeling browbeaten Day after day I think it's over But I just can't get away
You say forget it We'll don't jump the gun You're laughing this time Next time you might be the one To tell the Story of the Blues
First, they take your pride Turn it all inside And then you realise You've got nothing left to lose
So, you try to stop Try to get back up And then, you realise You're telling the Story of the Blues
(repeat)
What they gonna say 'bout me When they tell the Story of the Blues
Trust the process. Trust Phil.

You can just hear the crowd roar at 3:21, can’t you?

Absolutely! It would be spine-tingling having the North Stand roaring that chorus. Just told Lady Dollers about it and she'd never heard of it, so I played it for her. She said, "Oh yeah, that would be really good. Very anthemic."
So that's an endorsement from someone who's not even into football!
Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Never heard this before but a massive yes from me. Cracking chorus and would be something unique to us.

Just doesn't sound right to me. But maybe I am wrong as I seem to be the only one who is saying so..
Would you play it from the start? Or from a certain point?
I think Rob Chandler or whoever does the PA these days would play the whole thing and the crowd would probably just sing the chorus once they know it. Blue Action could even make songsheets to get people knowing the words initially.
I can imagine it starting up spontaneously when the chips are down; we're losing, time's running out, the team look beat... then the crowd bellows out, "You've got nothing left to lose..." and it inspires the players.
Maybe I'm just an old romantic but I reckon it could be awesome.

With our new American owners maybe we could take inspiration from Wisconsin.
Always kind of surprised this hasn't become a football anthem, it's literally about unconditional love despite being let down constantly, which describes being a football fan.
I survived Ipswich 0-0 Burton

I like that - but it’s not so much always the song but more the fact everyone is singing it. Take Delilah for example, it’s not a song you would think of but the fact everyone sings it makes it good.
Suffolk folk though are very reserved, I’m not sure they would sing anything under any circumstances - I’m talking about the whole ground here.
