Paul Cook is the real deal 21:20 - Mar 11 with 3077 views | unstableblue | Yes I know he’s two games in without a win. But again the below interview is making me feel more confident about the guy, his views, his attitude, his approach. Just really impressed. Let’s back this guy to the hilt. Different gravy under Marcus.

Mick was the best under Marcus but I never felt he really got under the skin of a game, or gave insights to the team and performance Lambert gave some early insights then became a repetitive dirge. Cook comes across as the real desk, let’s hope for 3 points against Plymouth and a run... to add substance to what is clearly a savvy guy.

There was a shameful lack of attention to pressers under Mick in favour of the whole 'let's actually mange the team and try to get some results' thing. [Post edited 11 Mar 2021 21:40]

Yes, we forgive ourselves (or forget!) for approving of certain managerial appointments, but aren't prepared to extend the same generosity towards a man who puts millions into the Club each year. If this takeover happens, it will be scary yet exciting. If it doesn't happen, there's no reason why we can't get promoted under Cook either this year or next year. But if we don't, let's not have collective amnesia about being optimistic and excited about Cook. He seems like a good egg. Let's just back him and not worry about too much else.

It's also like now Lambert has gone all our problems immediately vanish because all we ever needed was a managerial change... I wonder how many people in 2 years will still be backing Cook if we're still in this division?

He speaks well. Lambert spoke well at the start. In fact all our managers typically have. Everyone loved Hurst when he first came in remember..

He just comes over as a manager who knows what he is doing, on the pitch, how training should work, who needs to be involved, how the coaching staff will be used, as you mention, he knows players need managing. that quote " The most important players are the ones who are not playing" a fantastic attitude to management. The way he spoke about 1 window, 1 pre season. Amazing confidence without going over confident, he just knows he needs 6 weeks of daily work to get his football philosophy across and he'll get the best out of the players available. " Defenders defend, midfield pass, Strikers score" That's as simple as football is. I love the fact he is proud of being manger of the club, not like Mick who seemed to see is as below him, unlike Lambert who was basically loving having a job, it's almost like it's a dream for Paul to be managing a Club like Ipswich, which I could understand, someone like Paul clearly loves football, he's clearly a very modest man and I can imagine him looking at Sir Alf and Sir Bobby on the walls at the club and thinking " I'm managing the club these guys made famous" [Post edited 12 Mar 2021 0:15]

I actually feel sorry for him that we are somehow 7th, despite let's be honest an apparent absolutely awful season, it's amazing we are still in the mix the problem is, there are still alot of people who EXPECT promotion and so far it's been 2 games and already there's a few people bemoaning the results. There's just no realism with football anymore, we can't train, yet people are expecting new formations, styles etc, how are you supposed to do that. " here you go lads, copies of FM21 for each of you, i've uploaded some data packs, just go away look at yourself and do what the game makes you do.
