£75,000 for each homeowner is peanuts though. I bet they're all spending £200k on home decor furnishing, like any normal person who doesn't want to live in a skip

B-b-but the PM himself promised back in Feb that homeowners wouldn't have to pay. Surely he wasn't lying? Oh.
This scandal - a failure of building regs, failure of enforcement of building regs and greed amongst developers (surely not???) - is destroying the lives of hundreds of thousands of people, saddled with unfair and unaffordable debt.

Weird.

Why wouldn’t the Tory party want the freeholder to pay?

I think you're being a bit harsh. Developers have given away millions of pounds...

... to the Conservative Party.

I'd say 'invested' is more accurate than 'giving away', but you're not wrong. Cash for planning and taxation favours, lovely. How Jenrick kept his his job over this issue is beyond me, and Desmond is only one of many developers that have donated millions and millions. It stinks, as everything does around this Johnson government.

Presumably they all think ethics is a place just below Suffolk.

The words 'on' and 'this' are superfluous when it comes to the current administration.

Ah, but you're forgetting the tory party exists to sort out the mess left by a preceding Labour administration.

I'm sure that the fact that large numbers of Conservative MPs and donors have large property portfolios is purely coincidental.
