In the (extremely hypothetical) scenario that he was willing for the kind of money we have, the hype around signing a former England international, former Champions League winner, aged 31, for a League 1 club, would be worth it on its own. Of course you would.

I'm going to have to disagree with the idea that Paul Cook would rather have James Norwood or Macauley Bonne than two time Champions League winner Daniel Sturridge.

Afaik it was a long suspension, rather than an injury that did for his 2020-21 season. Regardless, you'd have a player of ridiculous quality for this division, still at a decent age. We'd have to be absolutely crazy to pass that up if it were possible, which it won't be, because a far more successful club than us will take him. | |
