Chris Hughton sacked today 09:32 - Sep 16 with 2314 viewsnodge_blue

I see Forest have got rid of Hughton. He has lost 6 out of 7 games this season.

I think that goes to show that managers who have had success are not nailed on to repeat it. It happens in football that bad runs start and its hard to stop them.

You could look at that two ways. You could stick with a guy thinking that in time the wheels of fate will turn and whats come good in the past will come good again, or you could just say we have to sack you as we need a fresh face to fix it.

We seem to be stuck in a loop of trying both and not going forward!!!

Hughton managed Forest last season too, all bar first few games. He has had two transfer windows.

They’ve had 27 managers in 17 years which is quite staggering. They make us seem like a well run club - but of course they’re still in a higher league

It feels like Chelsea and Watford have similar sacking rates - doesn’t seem to do them any harm.

Forest, Sunderland Town have been three of the worst run clubs in the country over the last decade. Nearly every manager there has failed bar McCarthy. It seems that there is much more wrong with these clubs than the managers.

As for Hughton, I never understood how highly he was rated. He did well relatively well at Newcastle and was unfairly sacked, did well at Brighton too. He was at Norwich but have no memory if he was good or bad. A decent manager for sure but I feel like he has probably had his time and passed his peak.

I could see him replacing Cook when he goes.

Im not sure we've ever recruited a manager following a bad run and a sacking?

Maybe Lambert though he had some time out?

He seems to be either good at a club or bad. Thought he did ok at Newcastle, but at Forest?

Watford are annoyingly resistant to failure despite having a new manager every 6 months or so.

I’d include Derby and Sheff Weds in there too. Although very much unlike us their troubles came from massively overspending.

That's because (IIRC) the club structure behind the manager doesn't change - the manager has to work within the structure, not the other way round...

Just one small problem; sell their houses to who, Ben? Fcking Aquaman?

you could argue that our problems can be traced back to overspending back in 2001!

Really, if we’d finished 15th In our first year back we’d probably still be an established well run club. But no we had to play well and get into Europe. That Sunday/Thursday routine killed our small squad.

Oooh, touchy...it's just a little payback for your Google post in reply to the OP a few days ago when the question of player eligibility for the Papa John's Trophy was enquired about.
