I assume all-weather training and lower maintenance costs.

I also presume they are allowed at Sudbury's level and therefore in the FA Cup too, but not at League level. I think they allow them in Scotland too.

They have to be changed every few years as they wear.
Sudbury are set to pull that pitch up over the next couple of years and relay it.
The old one will be laid on the training pitch.
