Quote: “For sure, the club will be active, I’ve handed over some recommendations in terms of personnel and positions that I think could be useful for us. But that’s going to be a lot of work for the club to do and I’ll support them with that."

'But, that is going to be a lot of work for the club to do', that to me says these might be better players, difficult for us to get in.

We're getting Juan Mata and Ronaldo on loan aren't we?

Phil Jones back in training after 20 months out. Clearly total nonsense but a fitness loan might be nice.

Wouldn't be surprised to see some Man Utd youths head this way though. Perhaps a LB.

I suspect there will be one or two that he knows from Man Utd or even his time at Tottenham that he fancies us getting in on loan (or maybe even permanent if he knows they are not going to make it there and maybe even have already moved on).

I suspect the lot of work is partly about moving players out in order to move new ones in. I think the squad is a little on the large side already.

There's a young Rwandan winger from United that McKenna is very keen to sign on loan.

Phil Jones is still playing? Wow I thought he went down with the titanic!

I'm sure that Figo at 49 could still do a job for us.

Not sure Kane is much of an improvement on what we have

And of course an ageing Argentinan wouldn't go amiss. He certainly didn't miss much.

Unfortunately Eusebio died 7 years ago when he was 71.

Well, here's the 22.

1 Sone Aluko
2 Macauley Bonne
3 Cameron Burgess
4 Wes Burns
5 Tom Carroll
6 Bersant Celina
7 Conor Chaplin
8 Hayden Coulson
9 Janoi Donacien
10 George Edmundson
11 Kyle Edwards
12 Lee Evans
13 Scott Fraser
14 Kayden Jackson
15 Sam Morsy
16 Jon Nolan
17 James Norwood
18 Toto Nsiala
19 Matt Penney
20 Kane Vincent-Young
21 Luke Woolfenden
22 Joe Pigott

From that I can see Nolan and Jackson coming off. I would have said Tom Carroll too, but as he knows Carroll, I guess he may be retained. However as he is only on a 1 year contract, it may be easier to mutually terminate now.

Coulson could go back too I suppose, if a long way from being fit, but I think that would need all three parties to agree to it. We'll get bids for Nors, I've no doubt but he's done himself the world of good with McKenna watching on, and he want aggression off the ball too. Maybe Fraser out too, if the Swansea rumours are to be believed even if just on loan so we can get someone else in.

If we can move Nsiala out - which I think will be best for both parties. Would like Toto to go an kick start his career again at the right club, then we would be looking for a new CB.

Teden Mengi would be my guess. He is so highly rated at Utd, also played with Edmundson at Derby last year. Would be a good option if he hopefully continue with 3 CB’s

I'd say we need an older head in the back 2 or 3 though. A Mogga, if you like.
Mengi is a good player, but not sure he fits that mould.

We're short of leaders on the pitch, which is why its important Morsy, Edmundson and Norwood are there or there about's. We need 1 or 2 more that can grab a game by the scruff of its neck.

You would think he’d look for a left back. Coulsen returned (barely played) and Penney seems average.

Striker? Bonne not scored for a while plus may be recalled.

We’ve struggled on the left. And pretty much to be expected that we’d struggle/be unlucky in one area with a completely new team.

If McKenna has a solid choice at LB and maybe even at LM/LW then I think we’d be a better team almost immediately.
